I work with women (15+) and moms who feel like they’re constantly carrying more than they can manage—whether that’s anxiety, depression, life changes, relationship challenges, discovering purpose, grief after pregnancy loss, or the struggles of pregnancy and postpartum. Many are exhausted from trying to keep up with the demands of motherhood and life, or managing ADHD while putting themselves last. They want a place where they can finally set it all down, be honest about what’s really going on, and learn tools that make life feel lighter. Most of all, they long to feel supported, steady, and more like themselves again.

When life comes at us, we may experience depression, anxiety, or struggle with the difficult changes, and we may need help to feel better equipped to manage these experiences. Sometimes people are questioning their own identity and how it fits in the world. Sometimes people try to manage relationships without the most effective approach and are looking for something different. We all experience difficulties in relationships at times and sometimes extra help with navigating the difficulties within relationships can make things easier.

When relief from our distress can't come quickly enough, it can feel uncomfortable to reach out to someone you don't know for help. Whether you are a sleep-deprived new parent, navigating a loss in your relationships or goals, or pivoting from life's changes, it's tempting to push ourselves to muddle through on our own. Many times this leads us to being harder on ourselves than we deserve, and we are left feeling even more tired, stressed, or burned out. You deserve a space for you to just "be"... to breathe, feel, examine, heal, and experience authentic, judgment-free support.

Deciding to seek therapy is a hurdle for most people. I try to make that decision one that is rewarded not only by feeling understood and gaining self understanding, but also one that results in measurable change. I have been practicing psychotherapy since 1985. I have been very fortunate to have had a wide range of experience which has given me, not only training, but also confidence in treating disorders such as anxiety of all types, depression, the after effects of trauma and catastrophic loss, problems of a sexual nature as well as helping people face crisis and challenges that we face in living this life.

So many of my clients come in feeling like something is wrong with them. They are relieved to know that their feelings are normal. My clients come to me because they just want to feel better. They want to be less depressed, less anxious, better parents, more confident, and have healthier relationships. I work with my clients as they learn new ways of coping and living life that free them from negative thoughts, behaviors and patterns of emotional reactivity.

I am trained to provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and I am completing certification to ensure highest quality care. I also integrate techniques from Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I often support clients with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma related issues, and more. However, I view presenting symptoms as expressions of unmet needs rather than comprehensive static labels. My approach is flexible, grounded in mutual trust and respect, and based on individual needs in recognition of the person beneath the symptoms.

Being human means that we sometimes find ourselves struggling with conflicting and difficult emotions. This is often our experience when faced with challenging issues such as depression, anxiety, loss, life transitions, or difficulty in relationships. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with adults and couples using a compassionate and non-judgmental approach. My style in working with clients is relational and developmental. My work is grounded in Attachment Theory which has taught us over several decades of research that as humans, both children and adults, we are wired for emotional connection with others.
