"...healing means, first of all, the creation of an empty but friendly space where those who suffer can tell their story to someone who can listen with real attention..." (Henri Nouwen). My desire in counseling is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for one to tell their story, to go deeper and discover the their own personal way of being human and the way they want to go. As Henri Nouwen says, "Quite often it is our fear for the hidden moments in our own history that keeps us paralyzed."
I’ve worked in addictions for over 15 yrs. My recent experience involves volunteering, missions, teaching, & counseling, in W. Africa & the Charlotte area. As a recent intern & counseling resident at Forest Hill Church I provided counseling & pastoral care for adolescents, adults, couples & families struggling w/ various emotional & relational disturbances.
I have a passion for families struggling w/ blended family issues, addiction or mental illness. I strive to provide skilled integrated counseling to support individuals & their families w/ the greatest opportunity for growth, emotional & spiritual well-being, independence, & a higher quality of life. I look forward to partnering with you in this process.
