My clients want to connect to others but are afraid. They've learned in childhood that those that are supposed to love you don't always treat you well. Yet, their deepest desires are to be seen, heard, and accepted. My clients often carry shame or guilt while also knowing deep down that they have immense strength and worth. They have the desire to move forward and live a fulfilled life, but feel stuck. Does any of this sound or feel familiar? Great news: it doesn't have to be this way! Reach out to me! Together, let’s explore a path forward—a healthy way forward—so that you can thrive. After all, you deserve to thrive.

It is important that my clients are provided a safe space, free of judgment, and are given an environment to express themselves. I am committed as a Clinical Therapist to creating an emotional environment where change and healing are possible.

I work with children and teenagers and adults who may be struggling with ADHD, anxiety, or self-esteem issues. Together we can navigate social interactions, family dynamics or simply working through tough emotions. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and have experience working with neurodivergent populations, as well as working with parents/guardians directly. I want to empower my clients by giving them the skills that work best for them. By offering a warm and creative environment for clients to be their full selves, I hope to make therapy a little bit easier and maybe even fun.

Even on a good day, being a human can be overwhelming. Our experience is often made even harder when we feel unheard and unseen while facing life transitions, implementing personal changes, or breaking out of familiar patterns. Sometimes we feel like the best we can do is to survive, but we all deserve better than just getting by. Everybody should have somebody in their corner who can appreciate both the person they are as well as the person they wish to be. Navigating the path between a challenging present and an ideal future can be daunting, and nobody should be expected to walk it alone. I'd be glad to travel that road with you.

The period of time between childhood and adulthood can be stressful, confusing, and frustrating, sometimes combined with dismissal or invalidation. On the other hand, being an adult doesn’t exactly come with an instruction manual either, and it’s no easy task navigating the trials and responsibilities that come with being a “grown-up.” But sometimes when you’re feeling alone or unheard, the undivided attention and full support of one trusted person can make all the difference. That's where I come in.

Therapy is not always easy. But that doesn't mean it is without joy. In therapy, we get to come to an appreciation of both joy and sorrow that are the consequences of living a fully human life. Through appropriate challenge and support, we are able to expand the range of our humanity and our participation in the world.

During times of struggle, you have an absolute right to support from an attentive, warm, trustworthy witness - someone who believes in your strength and brilliance when you can no longer see it, and who stands by your side as you emerge as the architect of your own healing. My work and my passion is to be that witness. I entered into the field of mental health to uplift the experiences of those who often struggle to find responsive and attuned care. As a queer, biracial, Latine therapist and advocate, I am wholly dedicated to opening a space with you through which you can experience repair, discovery, growth and transformation.

I'm an experienced mental health and addictions therapist, working with adults suffering from depression, anxiety, substance dependence and other addictions. I'm also credentialed by the NCSAPPB as a Certified Clinical Supervisor to offer clinical supervision for other therapists.

Do you ever feel like things are okay, but not OK at the same time? Are there times when an unwanted feeling, thought, or behavior keeps you from being the person you wish to be? Do you believe you are suffering from a choice you made or somebody else made? I believe everybody deserves more than happiness, but to obtain a level of peace. Sometimes, life sucks. It’s scary. It’s frustrating. It’s lonely. It’s unfair… It’s filled with constant change. One thing that will remain the same is the sun and moon rising and setting. With each day passing, I believe there is an opportunity for growth and new discovery.

I'm not for everyone and every situation... I specialize in therapy and coaching for executives, couples, and companies who are highly motivated to get unstuck by doing a lot of work in a short period of time through in-person intensives or by secure video. I focus primarily on helping stabilize situations, create clarity about next steps, and crafting an action plan that my clients will be responsible for executing outside of the therapy or coaching relationship.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
