I am a psychologist, assistant professor, and associate director of behavioral health for the UNC Center for Women's Mood Disorders. I provide therapy for women experiencing mood and anxiety symptoms across the lifespan, and I have specific expertise in reproductive-related mood disorders. My clinical practice focuses on the use of mindfulness, acceptance, and value-based action as methods of promoting wellbeing and vitality. I specialize in the use of behavior therapies for mood and anxiety disorders in women.
What is a reproductive-related mood disorder? Reproductive-related mood disorders are defined by mood and physical symptoms that accompany reproductive events like menstruation, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, childbirth, assisted reproduction, and the transition to menopause.
While depression and anxiety symptoms can be triggered by changes in reproductive hormones, therapy can reverse these symptoms and promote wellbeing. I believe in an individualized approach to therapy. I will meet with you to learn about your concerns, and we will decide together how I can be most helpful.
