I think the first thing someone seeking help needs to release is a sense of wrongness - "I let this happen," "I'm no good," "If only I had..." These are all normal, human responses, but they are also hurtful and create a false sense of self. The reason I became a counselor was to help those individuals carrying around guilt and shame. It affects everything - your relationships, your work, everything! I want everyone to thrive and live their fullest life. Being able to see yourself clearly, not for what you've done or did not do, is a powerful healing agent.

Are you feeling stuck? Repeating old patterns? Do you feel overwhelmed by a life transition? Sometimes, life is difficult and filled with complexity! Yet, even in this, we can find hope, laughter, and joy. I believe the first steps as a counselor are accepting whatever you bring to each session, acknowledging your courage, and honoring the positive and protective aspects. From that place of acceptance, we can work together to discover your strengths, develop skills, and uncover inner resources for moving forward.

My expertise lies in helping men who struggle with pornography and other unwanted sexual behaviors, partners whose lives have been shattered by these behaviors, and couples who want to heal from sexual betrayal. Though the pain is very real, I will help guide you toward healing. I understand that beginning counseling is a big step, and you may feel that your life circumstances have forced you here. That's okay. My goal is to jump into the hardship with you and help chart a course toward stability and wholeness. It's not easy work, but it's a worthwhile endeavor.

Therapy oftentimes begins with searching for relief of symptoms related to trauma, depression, anxiety, addiction, and help with stressors of life. In the therapeutic process, with support and safety, you can not only get relief from those symptoms, but also create the life in which you truly find joy and purpose in living, along with a renewed sense of who you are and what values and core beliefs are important to you. My role is to be a support and resource for those sorting through what is working and may not be working, so that you are truly living the life you want to live. If you are ready for relief and beyond, I can help.
