As a child of divorce and as a mother who has experienced the devastation of divorce, I understand the pain and struggles that go with the lived experience of divorce in families. Divorce is often seen as a tearing, a breaking, a failure of marriage and family. I believe that with help we can reimagine divorce into a restructuring of the family unit creating safe healthy space for family to continue after. My goal is to come alongside you and your family as you walk through this difficult chapter of your life. Together, we can create resilient healthy families to protect and guide our children.

Accepting New Clients! Have you been feeling overwhelmed, you just don’t know what to do and nothing seems to be working? The emotional and mental weight of life can often lead us to feel unsure and unsafe in our own mind and in our bodies. My passion aligns with helping individuals navigate and manage their emotions and thoughts by developing awareness of their triggers, acceptance as to why this may be happening, and coping skills to help us transform/evolve. I use an integrative approach including traditional psychotherapy as well as somatic interventions, breathing exercises, Yoga, meditations and guided visualizations.

We provide equine-assisted psychotherapy utilizing a team approach, consisting of a licensed therapist, an equine specialist and horse(s). This approach is based on the belief that clients have the ability to find the best solutions for themselves when given the opportunity to discover them. The horse is an ideal therapy partner due to its exceptional capacity to read and respond to non-verbal cues. Clients are able to observe their thoughts, feelings and behaviors and the impact on self and others. They can then explore, problem-solve and overcome challenges in the arena which translate into positive changes outside of the arena.

You never seem to fit in. No matter how hard you try it feels as though those around you have some sort of secret code that they all use to communicate with and as much as you have tried you just can’t crack it. There are people in your life but you worry they only tolerate you and that they will eventually get burned out and leave. You are a passionate person you love theater, anime, video games, fantasy books, among other things. Yet, no one seems as interested in those things as you are. You can find communities on the internet but you still feel lonely.

**ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS** Have you been struggling with unsettling feelings in your personal relationship and you can’t seem to figure out how to make things any different? I believe we all get into a relationship to feel connected to someone and to be able to grow and share our lives with another human. When we don’t connect, we feel uncomfortable. Whether it’s because of communication issues, different schedules, differences in parenting, or ways of managing stress; if our partner doesn’t understand us, we feel alone. My role as therapist is to help you identify what you want different in your life.

I treat children, adolescents, couples and families (from ages 6 to 60) .There are many problems affecting children, adolescents, families and couples today. The stress of contemporary life sometimes becomes overwhelming and can result in anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, alcohol and other addictive issues, marital conflict, infidelity, sibling conflict and financial concerns. My interventions are based on evidence-based practices which empirically demonstrated that when used they work by increasing coping skills, self-sufficiency, and overcome self-defeating behaviors.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
