I am different from most therapists in that I offer solutions early in the therapy process and I give advice. I tend to work well with people who want to get better, but are not necessarily excited about seeing a therapist - or who have not benefited from therapy in the past. It is very valid to seek out a therapist simply for support. It is what a lot of people need. But it is difficult to find a therapist who will help you understand what is perpetuating your problems in a clear and actionable way - and who will offer evidence-based interventions to make your life better as soon as possible so that you can live a happier life.

I help individuals find desired change, relief, and insight by increasing understanding and awareness of their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. I teach practical coping skills and guide clients in reprocessing distressing experiences and memories. With a mindfulness and strength-based approach, one technique I offer, as needed, is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing). Through this work together, you'll connect more with your inner, positive voice and truths, and decrease automatic behaviors and thoughts that make "small" issues feel overwhelming, that cause "freezing" or fighting. This results in more comfort with yourself and more confidence with other people or situations.

The most important part of finding a good therapist is feeling comfortable with that person. You want to feel confident that there is a good fit between yourself and your therapist. Shop around until you find the therapist that feels right to you.

Thank you so much for making the choice to seek out therapy! At its core, therapy is deeply rooted in feeling seen and safe, and in identifying new patterns and skills to utilize in the present and in the future. I have primarily worked with complex developmental and acute trauma, survivors of sexual assault, PTSD, and adjusting to life changes. I also love working with college-aged individuals and adults with ADHD, anxiety, OCD, and career-related changes. I am a certified EMDR therapist and work diligently to create a safe and stable space for clients of all races, ethnicities, faiths, sexual orientations, and genders.

I offer a genuine connection to my patients, which I believe to be the heart of psychotherapy. Each individual is unique, and so is their purpose in seeking therapy. I prioritize the relationship with individuals above any tool, or technique. As a result, I have seen my patients change and have witnessed their transformation.

I love working with older adolescents & adults with different concerns, particularly eating disorders/body image, trauma (single event or complex), family-of-origin concerns, depression, anxiety, and cultural/identity concerns. I work well with people who feel stuck or are looking for a different approach. Highly sensitive people and people who feel like they are too much or not enough tend to be a good match, and through our work together we will understand where these narratives came from. Our work will help you understand the valuable messages your emotions are trying to send you and find better ways to get your needs met.

I provide both in person and online couples counseling and adult, individual psychotherapy. The majority of my clients are ready to continue to grow, both as individuals and in their relationships, but are finding that old patterns might be getting in the way. My goal as a clinician is to balance emotional validation and safety with action-oriented approaches.
