Losing a loved one can be the most difficult time in your life. Emotions are often surprising in their strength or mildness. Grief often breaks a person completely from the inside out. Grieving is hard work, you can get worn out, and feel battered. It can take a lot longer to work through grief than most people realize. People around you may think it’s helpful for you to not talk or cry or focus on your loss but actually, this is just what people need to do. The goal is to not stay stuck, to move through it—and this is part of the process. Grief doesn’t get better by ignoring it and trying to ‘get over it.’
You never get over the loss of someone you love deeply but you can learn to live with it and you can feel good again. I use a holistic approach in my practice. My background is in individual and group counseling, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, yoga and mindfulness. I love working with individuals who need the space to find or rediscover their voice
My specialty is working with mind and body. I work with grief, cultural and immigrant issues, depression, anxiety and mood disorders (Bipolar I & II). My intention as a therapist is to help each person find a voice through talk therapy, art, yoga, mindfulness, and meditation. Groups, workshops and Yoga for Grief group offered.
