The mind is the most powerful resource of the body. It is also, unfortunately, the least managed. It keeps a record of experiences and dictates emotions to us based on those experiences. What we think, feel, and believe impacts how we interact and perform. Often, more than we know. What I do is help facilitate mind and body realignment for the achievement of optimal performance in school, at work, and in personal lives. With an eclectic and flexible approach, I integrate mindfulness, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and different holistic approaches to address your overall well-being.

It's time to stop walking away from yourself. You keep over-giving everything to everyone—but inside, you feel anxious, overwhelmed, and unsure of your own needs. You’re not broken—you’re likely carrying attachment wounds and cultural messages that taught you to stay small. This is inner child and generational trauma work. Somewhere along the way, you learned to be the steady one, the strong one, the silent one. Now that quiet ache is showing up as burnout, panic, issues sleeping, over extending yourself, relationship struggles, and maybe even a loss of direction and purpose.

My passion is supporting individuals who experience obstacles that impede their ability to thrive, not just survive. My goal is to help you find your true self through overcoming trauma, addictions, and other life struggles while finding ways to cope, heal, and flourish.

Your therapy experience deserves to be a tailored approach that is clinically informed and uniquely designed to meet your specific needs and help you to flourish. Being known is part of the healing process, feeling understood and validated moves us towards growth. Together, we can work on increasing motivation, getting unstuck, and finding hope. When you struggle with asking for help, it becomes harder to feel supported, loved, and seen. As you learn ways to cope, build healthy relationships, and create strategies to heal and grow from past experiences, you will find relief and regain your drive for the future.

Pain is a part of life, but pain does not have to control your life. Let's face it -- the reality of pain is not the problem. How you are responding to that reality is. Addiction, loss, betrayal, change, and trauma are just a few of the ways in which pain shows up and seemingly takes over our lives. The ultimate goal of Bayview Counseling Services is NOT to remove the pain of life and living, but to help you to live your life fully and effectively in spite of the pain. Who's in charge of your life -- you or your pain?

Do you often feel like you’re not enough or struggle to be your authentic self? Are worry and anxiety consuming your mind, leaving you tense, exhausted, and physically drained with headaches, stomach aches, and difficulty relaxing at night? If panic attacks and emotional overwhelm are frequent visitors, and even the simplest tasks feel insurmountable, you're not alone. You might try to quiet these feelings with unhealthy distractions, but they always seem to come back stronger. Over time, you start to lose trust in yourself, and shame can make it even harder to reach out for help.

Pursuing therapy takes courage. The process can often feel empowering as well as anxiety-provoking. Once you have made the decision to seek help, it is important to find a therapist who is the right fit for you. As a therapist, my approach is open, supportive, and fosters curiosity rather than judgment. I seek to provide a safe environment and to collaborate with my clients in order to meet their needs. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I use an evidence-based, integrative therapy approach, drawing from my training in mindfulness/acceptance-based, cognitive-behavioral models and relational therapies.

You feel exhausted wearing multiple masks, being “too much” for some people in your life and “not enough” for others. You feel proud of what you have achieved but immediately guilty because you don’t want to come off as “full of yourself.” You get annoyed at the question “where are you from?” because the answer is complicated and it reminds you of the difficulty you are having coping with discrimination and other 'isms that are part of this new country. Everyone thinks that you "got it all together" even though you question how you fit into expectations from your parents and society. You are tired of hiding who you really are.

Mind-body (psychosomatic) dysregulation is challenging and complex and primarily associated with difficult emotions (e.g., anxiety, panic, depression, anger, guilt, etc.), relational difficulties (e.g., social isolation), and self-esteem concerns. Through rigorous clinical observation, I designed Analytical Health Psychotherapy (AHP), an insight-oriented approach to Health Psychology in which the therapeutic relationship will contain complex emotions while we analyze, tolerate, and understand the unconscious roots of the physical symptoms. Hence, the physical symptoms will diminish while you gain insight into their functions.

Are uncomfortable emotions or limiting beliefs clouding your ability to connect to your internal compass and live a life aligned with what you value? Have you been left reeling from the impacts of the pandemic, world events, or other life stressors? If so, I'm here to help you make sense of it all. I believe change is possible when we couple compassionate curiosity with consistent and appropriate support. We are social creatures by nature and thrive when we feel connected and understood by others. But it can be hard to seek out those connections when we're struggling to understand and be at peace with ourselves.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in 22033?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
