This therapeutic Social Emotional Support Group for Middle Schoolers focuses on increasing self-awareness, social awareness, responsible decision making, self-management and relationship skills. Clients with brief attention spans, poor impulse control, low frustration tolerance, poor anger management, limited self-expression, poor peer relating skills and challenges taking responsibility for their actions can benefit from this group. Goals such as improving mood, decreasing anxiety and practicing effective coping skills are also addressed. Movement activities, board games, drawing, expressive therapy and role playing are incorporated into the sessions.. CBT, Mindfulness, Progressive Relaxation Exercises and DBT techniques are utilized.

Parents of Teens and Tweens Support Group
This Parent Support Group will meet virtually at lunchtime to provide opportunities for connection, guidance and problem solving while addressing the many challenges of parenting teens and tweens. Parenting kids who are challenged with learning disabilities, executive functioning skills, attention challenges, high levels of anxiety, mood dysregulation or bullying issues often feel isolated and at a loss. This group offers opportunities to connect with others facing similar challenges, and guidance as to how to best respond in a variety of different academic, social and family situations. Coping mechanisms for high levels of stress will be explored.
