Do you want to feel more empowered and less anxious in your life? I use a strengths-based framework to support individuals on their journey to a more meaningful life. My trauma-informed approach offers a client-centered space to create goals for therapy. Through skill building & resourcing, you are empowered to accept and detangle complex emotions instead of running away from what feels scary, uncomfortable or even dangerous. When you are able to tolerate and accept these emotions, your nervous system can be less overwhelmed by shame and guilt, and instead, filled with curiosity & compassion for your inherit resiliency.
As a humanistic therapist, I utilize the mind-body connection to promote healing & personal growth. My approach is compassionate & non-judgmental, creating a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings & sensations. Through "top-down" & "bottom-up" creative approaches, I help folks to embrace movement in a world where they've felt frozen.
I am honored to be a part of your healing journey and am inspired by your dedication to promoting your health. I was awarded the Insoo Kim Berg Award for “Outstanding Contribution to Social Work Knowledge and Practice” in 2018 and a “Community of Practice” Award by in 2019. I am currently taking clients in DC, MD and CA.

In the beginning we will focus on creating "solid ground" through psychoeducation and building internal and external resources, we then may detangle more complex belief systems or traumatic experiencing. Folks usually "graduate" from therapy with a renewed self-trust and confidence for living a dynamic and meaningful life.

I often use a blend of what is called somatic parts-work to help map out all the unique parts of you and understand the sensory experience of those parts. From there, we may use expressive arts as a way to embody and explore trauma reprocessing or health promotion. During our time together you may be surprised to discover your inherit strengths and create flexible problem-solving.
