Everyone has the potential to change, grow and heal. I believe that psychotherapy can be a powerful tool toward those ends. Effective therapy requires an accepting and authentic therapist-client relationship, and I strive to create an environment filled with warmth, trust and understanding.
I will encourage you to deepen your understanding of your experiences and emotional life. As most people enter therapy during a time of heightened discomfort, I also strive to quickly identify areas of concern, develop an approach that feels comfortable, and help you find greater fulfillment in your life.
As a generalist, I have experience working with a number of clinical issues and diagnoses, most frequently with relationship problems, mood and anxiety disorders, perinatal/postpartum issues and disorders, disordered eating, adjustment difficulties and trauma. I have experience working with adults, college, graduate and law students, adolescents, couples and families.
In addition to individual therapy, I also work with couples in various stages of their relationship with a number of different issues, ranging from pre-marriage concerns to post-divorce counseling. I also co-lead several process groups and provide clinical supervision to other therapists.
