We are all given a blank sheet in the beginning. What we choose to put on this blank sheet determines our outcome. Through life we are shaped by our surroundings, interactions and family. But not all of us are given the tools to write our own stories. Nature created us, but nurture guides us. As a clinician, I work with my clients to help build their awareness of how their learned subconscious understandings of life have impacted how they engage, interact and understand others.
With my clients, we work as a team to process these thoughts through the use of cognitive therapy practices to unravel your thoughts to then help build new healthy patterns. Changing what you thought was healthy is uncomfortable and intimidating but you don’t have to do it alone.
I have experience with individuals with wide range of concerns from depression, anxiety, complex trauma, and personality disorders to learning how to navigate family and partner relationships. I am dedicated to reaching black and other communities of color in an effort to normalize and decrease the stigma of therapy.
