Entering therapy is an act of self care that takes courage. It is an opportunity to take pause and honor who we are and how we got here. My approach is to encourage clients to dig deep into what it means to be happy, content, and fulfilled. This process is as much about the questions as it is the answers. I work collaboratively with clients to better understand themselves and their relationships, build insight and distress tolerance, and to develop a "toolbox" to better communicate and relate with their loved ones. Combined, this results in a refined awareness of self and a deeper permission to feel, change, and grow.
I provide individual, family, and couples therapy to those facing a variety of emotional, relationship, mental health, and adjustment challenges. These issues may be impacting work, family, socialization, learning, or health. I also specialize in working with adolescents and young adults struggling with issues related to depression, anxiety, and self-esteem.
When the path feels dark and unclear, it can be a relief not to walk it alone. I use a systemic and strengths-based approach to connect with each individual, couple, and family beyond just "the problems" that have led them to treatment. In doing so, together we uncover what is healthy and resilient. I am always grateful to be a part of this journey.
