Born and raised in the inner city by a single mother and a large extended family, I noticed the needs of those that were mentally or physically diagnosed were often not met. Therefore, I began to inquire about what I needed to do in order to be a part of the solution. I began to work in the field and I have worked in Behavioral/Mental Health for close to 20 years. My experience covers a plethora of ages and diagnosis across many settings. My determination to treat and support those with mental health diagnosis during the pandemic inspired me to perform outpatient therapy via telehealth to adults and adolescents.

Welcome — I’m glad you’re here. Reaching out for support can feel like a leap into the unknown. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, or just feeling stuck in a life that doesn’t quite fit, you’ve taken a brave first step by looking for someone to talk to. That’s not small. That’s the beginning of change. I believe therapy is less about “fixing” and more about understanding. Life gets messy — we all carry stories, wounds, and patterns that shape how we show up in the world. Sometimes those patterns stop serving us.

Life's a bitch and then you die. For many of us, this is not just a hook to a classic song but a "fact of life". And if you are reading this, chances are this feeling applies to you. And there are so many factors play a part in why life is so hard. In my time as a therapist, I've had so many emerging adults(18-25) reach out to me with feelings of anxiety and depression about their current lives and the feeling of hopelessness about their future. And trust me, I get it because I was that emerging adult many, many years ago. It may not be "life" that's a bitch, but just past or present moments that we currently struggle with.

I'm excited you're here! Therapeutic relationships can be an incredibly powerful resource for accessing your truth, increasing self-love, and healing through connection. My aim as a therapist is to foster a safe, nonjudgmental space that supports clients in divesting from narratives of self-pathology, rewriting their stories in empowering ways, and in feeling more grounded and more joyful in their daily lives. My practice is rooted in a social justice frame and a belief that symptoms are most often related to the trauma of lived experiences of oppression and discrimination, not due to internal failing.

Hello, and welcome. My name is Ayanna Gellineau, and I’m a trauma-focused therapist committed to helping individuals reconnect with themselves in safe, meaningful ways. I work from the belief that healing is possible when we feel seen, supported, and empowered to make sense of our stories — at our own pace, in our own voice. I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, and life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected — and they’re often carrying unspoken pain from past experiences.
