I believe that therapy can be beneficial for anyone who feels that they are not living up to their full potential. I treat adults of all ages and have a background working in college counseling, LGBTQ issues and treating addictions. I work with a variety of obstacles to mental health, including mental illness, stress, feeling down or anxious, and relationship problems. I help clients to define problems, cope and respond in healthier ways, and achieve a deeper understanding and appreciation for themselves. I provide therapy to individuals and couples as well as drug and alcohol evaluations.
Based on a relationship of trust and understanding, I work collaboratively with clients to address specific problems and explore more deeply rooted issues. I take the time to get to know each client individually, use humor, capitalize on existing strengths and develop concrete skills (i.e. relaxation, communication, coping skills) and explore emotions.
