I love being a counselor! Like most people in the profession, I have personal experience with mental health along with the want to help people. These qualities combined have shaped me into a person who is always willing to lend a hand whether that is listening to someone's story or giving someone a ride home. As a teenager, I struggled with anxiety. I would have panic attacks before school every day. During this time, I had no idea what was happening to me and no one to help. I never wanted anyone to struggle with what I did alone. I am here to help others understand they are not alone and what they feel is valid.

I believe that all individuals are able to change but get stuck in patterns that do not serve them well due to daily stress. Changing these patterns is accomplished through interactive conversations and identifying why these patterns are not useful before creating new useful patterns. I work with couples on a variety of issues such as trust and betrayal, affairs, intimacy, grief, divorce, communication, addictions, and any of the myriad of relationship issues all couples experience. In addition, I work with children, youth and their families on a variety of relationship issues dealing with conflict, communication, parenting, defiance, adoption and respect.

Thoughts can be overwhelming. If you find yourself unable to turn your thoughts off, or if you've ever been told that you're hard on yourself then we can work on making your thoughts and emotions feel more manageable for you. Maybe right now grief, anxiety, or depression are really loud, and together to make them feel less intimidating. We can also work on communication skills, relationship patterns, setting boundaries (knowing when to say no or when to push yourself), and helping you recover from and managing burn-out so that you don't feel trapped to keep pouring from an empty cup. These are areas I'm passionate in.
