As a psychodynamic, trauma-focused therapist, I can help you process past experiences in a safe environment — working with you to calm the unwanted noise that so often shows up as anxiety. I can also help you address the depression that too often obscures our truest selves.
Perhaps you’ve experienced a major upheaval or maybe you’re grappling with more subtle, disruptive changes to your day-to-day functioning; either way, such shifts can be destabilizing, causing us to question core beliefs and ask: Am I even on the right path? New traumas may unfold, and older ones may awaken but we still have a very real need to feel grounded.

Life can be full of surprises, not all of them happy. There may be times when, quite out of the blue, you feel anxious, depressed, or just plain stuck. Even in the midst of personal, financial and professional success, you might still find you are struggling emotionally, interiorly questioning, wondering whether all the energy and time you have put into your life is really paying off. Often, you may not know what exactly is troubling you and yet feel quite certain that something is not quite right inside. When it feels this way, therapy can help.

You are not alone; and you don't have to have the answers! My approach begins by listening and learning about you, because I believe that you are the expert on your own journey. The process of learning is how we come together to find the path that fits your experience. I have a direct approach to therapy and try to connect current situations with past experiences. I believe all people have the inherent strength to make positive life changes. Sometimes you just need the tools to make the change, and someone to compassionately guide you. I create a safe, supportive, and respectful space so we can figure out your path together.

Currently accepting new clients with daytime availability. It's okay to not be okay. You might feel paralyzed because it seems like everyone else has it more together than you do. You feel overwhelmed and uncertain and it feels like you cannot get a break. You might be a teenager feeling anxious and overwhelmed keeping up with all of your responsibilities at school and home while still trying to find time to have a little bit of fun with your friends. Oh, and also get some sleep. Or maybe you're a parent of a child struggling with anxiety and you find yourself feeling more stressed out because you don't know how to make it better.

I work with children (10+), tweens, adolescents, and young adults who struggle with managing their emotional, behavioral, and social needs. I know that therapy can be initially uncomfortable and/or anxiety provoking, yet I create a safe and supportive space for my patients. The therapeutic relationship is extremely important in my practice, as I believe that we need to work together in order to meet your goals, cope with your stressors, and improve your overall quality of life.

In our process, as you work towards sharing whatever is on your mind, we listen, think, and feel together, paying attention to patterns that may echo your past and our broader sociopolitical context. We explore what may have been difficult to think or feel through before, opening up room for deepened curiosity, self-understanding, and new ways of relating with your internal and external worlds. This work can help you feel more spontaneous, more connected to yourself, to others, to your desires and fears, and can lead to new possibilities for intentional choices.

It's hard to navigate a world that was built against your needs. My experiences as a queer, nonbinary, neurodivergent adoptee of color have informed my abolitionist practice in solidarity with those affected by interlocking systems of oppression: queer- and transphobia, ableism, racism, White supremacy, fatphobia, xenophobia, capitalism, classism, adoption, etc. I aim to help members of my community deconstruct the complex trauma inherent to such oppression, and explore what constitutes wellbeing amidst difficult material conditions.

I primarily see clients who are experiencing PTSD, depression, anxiety, divorce, school/work/family problems, ADHD, Autism, childhood issues, and trauma/stressful life events. I have advanced certification in EMDR and use trauma-focused therapy and other modes.
