Humans are complicated and complex beings. You may be facing a new path in life that feels daunting or unmanageable. Maybe your routine has stayed the same, but other areas of your life are bringing you down. As the client, you are the expert of your life and your experiences. As a counselor, I am here to help untangle the parts of your life which may feel cluttered or distressing. I aim to acknowledge past experiences, present stressors, and concern for the future.

Unfortunately, I am not accepting new clients at this time. Hello and welcome! I work primarily with adults experiencing emotional challenges. This often looks like depression, anxiety, or grief. I also work with individuals going through a transition in life, relationships, career, or health status. During a difficult season in life we are more open to learning new skills and perspectives.

Disappointment, stress, and trauma can make us forget who we really are: inherently good beings, capable of giving and receiving love in a balanced, healthy way. I can help you to remember, by providing a safe, warm, and welcoming space where you can share your experiences. We'll explore your story together and, along the way, take a look at your strengths, your potential, and what stands between you and strong, healthy connections with yourself and others. I have a deep understanding of how essential - and fragile - trust can be.

I enjoy working with individuals who are interested in promoting well-being in themselves and in relation to others. Mindfulness instruction is available as a key component of my therapy should this focus be desired. Studies have shown that a regular practice of mindfulness supports an enriched experience of life, feelings of well being, better ability to cope with stress and pain, reduced panic, anxiety, and fear and better concentration. I currently only offer tele-health, accessible from the comfort of your own home or office.

My therapeutic approach focuses on addressing the ways external factors, namely the client’s environment, experiences, relationships and prior traumas have contributed to their current state. Given the world we live in I bring considerable attention to the ways that systems of oppression play a role in the client’s wellbeing. I believe that having an understanding of how these factors are impacting our mental health is integral to healing. As we work on building this awareness we can start making intentional choices more in line with the lives we would like to be living.

I love working with individuals and groups who have experienced relationship or systems-based trauma, whether in childhood or adulthood. This can include physical, sexual, verbal, emotional, financial, spiritual, or systemic traumas and may be the result of abusive relationships or living as a marginalized individual in an inadequate and even harmful system. I believe that the "symptoms" associated with trauma don't occur because there is "something wrong with you." Rather, I believe that they are evidence of your body and mind's inherent wisdom and ability to establish safety and sovereignty over your own life.

You’re struggling with sleepless or restless nights, making it difficult to enjoy life. Your anxiety or ADHD symptoms are becoming overwhelming and the strategies that once worked are no longer effective. You’re facing significant changes in your life, and the uncertainty of how to navigate them can feel overwhelming. You’ve been wanting to break old habits, but finding motivation feels challenging.

Now accepting new clients. Whether you have been thinking about coming to therapy recently or for a while, chances are there is something going on that is prompting you to do so. Perhaps it is a stressful job or relationship; or you may be struggling with anxiety or depression. Often, what may seem to be the "problem" on the surface is actually related to something on a deeper level. As your therapist, I will work with you to try and understand what this deeper level is about.

I see one of the most important roles as a therapist to be putting in the work to earn someone’s trust and walking beside them as an accomplice on their path towards growth. I don’t believe that people are “broken” or “need to be fixed”, but rather that somewhere within every person lies the capacity to generate change. I believe this change begins by finding someone trustworthy to support them through this process. And—that being kinder and gentler towards ourselves goes a long way to building the foundation for this change to occur.

Difficult emotions may bring you to therapy, but they can also serve as pathways to hope, curiosity, insight, and self-compassion. Turning towards these emotions can offer opportunities to heal and move forward with greater ease. As a therapist, I have the privilege of working with school-age children, adults, couples, and families facing challenges in relationships, struggles at work or school, feelings of overwhelm or stagnation, low self-worth, or difficulty finding joy in life. I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Treatment, and Anxiety Treatment, and I am trained in CBT, ACT, IFS, and ADHD Treatment.
