You’ve built the life you thought you were supposed to. The job, the degree, the relationship. On the outside, it looks like you are thriving. Inside, it feels heavier. Something is missing. You are used to being the strong one, holding it together, but you are tired. You want a space where you do not have to have it all figured out. I work with adults, especially high-achieving women and creatives, who feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck. Together, we slow down and start untangling what is holding you back.

Recovering from an eating disorder and/or severe trauma can frequently be difficult. My broad training and extensive experience enables me to work with patients in a variety of ways including traditional therapeutic approaches, the incorporation of art therapy as a component of treatment, and the use of EMDR. I work with each individual patient to determine the type of approach that best matches her personality and therapeutic needs. I have been one of the first psychotherapists to make use of expressive arts and EMDR in the treatment of eating disorders.

I enjoy working with individuals who are interested in promoting well-being in themselves and in relation to others. Mindfulness instruction is available as a key component of my therapy should this focus be desired. Studies have shown that a regular practice of mindfulness supports an enriched experience of life, feelings of well being, better ability to cope with stress and pain, reduced panic, anxiety, and fear and better concentration. I currently only offer tele-health, accessible from the comfort of your own home or office.

As a therapist, it is my goal to help you gain a better understanding of who you are, how your brain works, and how this impacts your daily life. In order to allow you to open up in this way, I work hard to provide a safe environment built on respect and collaboration. I have been a psychologist for 35 years and work with clients who are interested in exploring their options in how they live in the world. I see the therapeutic process as a dialogue between two partners in exploration and developing resources. For me choice supports health and that clients sometime come with a lack of awareness of these choices or needing to develop more internal and interpersonal supports. I work in the present moment as well as connecting present patterns to client's history as well as the larger contextual field. My approach is relational and somatic from a Gestalt Therapy base.

I have many years of experience in the social service/counseling field. Trials can be seasonal but nonetheless, at times, be a very painful process. Navigating through trials while feeling hopeless, worthless and helpless can be very challenging. I believe counseling can be a healthy outlet and a place to regain hope, motivation, and support. Whether you are struggling with a mood disorder, life transition, finding a purpose, or spiritual warfare, seeking counseling can be the first step to resolving internal and external conflict. Make counseling part of your self-care plan.

Are you looking to deepen your understanding of yourself and how your patterns of behavior may be impacting you? Are you interested in gaining knowledge about the connection between mind, body, and soul? We have been taught to "think" and "pay attention" and unfortunately that seems to have lead us further from ourselves and our feelings. As a Licensed Psychologist and Certified Yoga Instructor I use an integrated approach to help clients explore the ways in which their minds and bodies may have become disconnected from each other, and how that may be causing harm (depression, anxiety, etc).

My clinical experience began in general private practice, and I later moved on to develop a more specialized treatment approach through an internship with The Center for OCD and Anxiety in August 2020. From there, I transitioned into my roles as Associate Therapist, Intake Manager, and Caregiver Support Group Leader until February 2024. As I believe that effective therapy includes an appropriate balance of empathy, humor, active listening, and proper guidance rooted in evidence-based practices, I utilize an eclectic mix of therapeutic modalities (listed below) to tailor treatment according to the specific needs of each individual.
