I have 11 years of experience providing individual, family, and group therapy to culturally diverse, urban, and at-risk populations across settings and across the lifespan. My goal is to educate, empower, and advocate for my clients through a strength-based, evidence-based, holistic approach to provide quality services and meet my clients where they are. I am sensitive to racial trauma and provide Christian-based counseling upon request.

Are you "worrying" often? Do you feel uncomfortable in social settings? Feeling sad, frustrated/angry and having difficulty managing it? Are you a parent concerned about your child's behavior? Or in a relationship/marriage that is unfulfilling or not what it use to be? Is your family not accepting of your life choices? Counseling is a great opportunity to work through long standing concerns or just talk about what is going on in your life right now.

More Than Just Talk....... If you haven't been in psychotherapy before, you may not realize that the traditional approach to treatment is to educate the client about their conditions and teach them how to change their own feelings and behaviors. Although this approach can be very helpful, it is usually a long process that depends a great deal on the individual's courageous persistence. Moreover, a change in behavior and belief does not necessarily resolve the history of negative experiences fueling such things as depression and anxiety. These are some of the reasons I offer "More Than Just Talk".

I strongly believe that all people have the ability to live their best life when given the opportunity and the right tools for them. Each journey is just as unique as the individual who embarks on it. The work I do with clients is person centered, motivationally driven, and tailored to meet the needs of each person no matter where they are on their therapeutic journey. Whether this is your first time seeking therapy, or have decided to try again, I would be honored to meet you where you are and guide you toward reaching your personal goals.

Starting your therapeutic journey can be both overwhelming and exciting. As a parent, it can be hard to know when the right time is to begin therapy for your child. As an individual, it may be scary to open up, challenge yourself, and commit to change. One thing I know to be true is that each person is unique, and is capable of growth, happiness and emotional wellness. I enjoy working with clients from late childhood through adulthood and love helping clients who are new to therapy understand the therapeutic process, create goals, and empower themselves to live their best life.

Every individual brings their unique and personal history, worldview, and values to therapy. As your therapist it is essential that I embrace these aspects in myself to better help you, the client, on your path to change. With this approach, my aim is to empower you so you can better understand your genuine self, and to help you evolve by building healthier insight into your desires and goals. Although I specialize in women's issues, I find it rewarding to work with all individuals when it comes to life transitions, anxiety and depression. I enjoy working with couples to help resolve interpersonal conflict and communication issues.

Is something keeping you from being your best? We all have great value and the ability to achieve great things. Sometimes, the burdens of this life, including past trouble, negative thinking/emotions, difficult circumstances, poor choices and lack of support can hold us back from reaching our potential. I believe my role as a counselor is to help others be more aware of their own strengths and abilities, so they can set and achieve positive goals. I believe in welcoming people with unconditional acceptance and support, and helping them work through difficulty to build and execute a plan to become the best version of themselves.

To live is to suffer; to survive is to find meaning in the suffering (Neitzsche).  We would never be able to experience our joy had we not of grown through our pain. GROWTH is the key component of findings ones true self.  Be it feelings of anxiety, depression, or symptoms of PTSD, you CAN and WILL grow to be a better version of you when you take this journey of wellness. Exploration of ones self and mental toughness are key components to living a healthy and fulfilling life. Sometimes our past experiences, generational patterns, or our current thought patterns prohibit us from achieving greatness. YOU can be the hero of YOUR story!

I would love to support you and help guide you while piecing things together in this season of life. I work with individuals of all ages to manage their symptoms and help them achieve personal growth. Talking through situations with another person can bring a new perspective and energy. I try to match where you are and what you need, whether more guided, or sitting with big thoughts. We will focus on goals and create ways to stay accountable. Many people I see have a history of childhood trauma, high stress, low self esteem, feeling "stuck", ready for change, hormonal experiences- as some broad examples.

To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
