One thing I've learned is that for therapy to actually work, you have to feel comfortable with the person across from you. For the most part, I've been able to get along with nearly anyone. That's what I offer first. Someone who is easy to talk to. Someone you can freely bounce ideas off of and get solid feedback. Someone who will listen to you, laugh with you, and relate to you on many levels. While this is the first thing I offer, my practice does not just rely on intuition. I work with data. We won't just talk in circles. We will use techniques firmly rooted in research to track your progress and most importantly, find peace.

We all want to be happy, but we look outside ourselves for the key to happiness, when happiness is always available if we just "stop, look, and listen!" to what is always here. I teach people how to move through the fear and self- limiting beliefs that separate us from what we all really, really want: peace, love, joy, freedom, etc. Heartwork gives people tools to work through any issue that separates one from one's inherent wholeness and connection with others and the Universe. I work with individuals, couples and groups, and I also facilitate workshops and residential retreats.

My ideal clients are individuals aged 18+ who may be carrying a lot beneath the surface. On the outside, they may seem like they are managing, but internally they often feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or disconnected from themselves. Many are navigating the impact of trauma, grief, or major life transitions and are trying to make sense of how past experiences continue to show up in their present lives.

Whatever challenges you face, meaningful change becomes possible when you have the capacity to explore the less familiar parts of your inner world and history within a therapeutic relationship. This is the foundation of psychoanalytic treatment, a long-established approach that many clinicians choose for their own growth because of its unique ability to deepen self-understanding and support lasting transformation. Well-suited to complex or long-standing difficulties, this psychoanalytic work offers the possibility of ongoing personal development, deeper relationships, and greater life satisfaction through personal knowledge.

Clients often come to me for one of these reasons: They have experienced trauma that feels stuck, they have unexplained health issues and wonder if trauma is a source, they have high levels of anxiety, and/or they are somewhere in the perinatal mental health journey. Whatever the reason, people are often seeking EMDR to help reprocess what they have experienced, or are experiencing, as a means to improve their lives. Note: EMDR can also be used for negative thought patterns (e.g. I'm unloveable and will never find a spouse/partner) and future goals (e.g. a successful round of IVF).

The journey of therapy should be something you are drawn toward, not something you have to convince yourself to do. I want my clients to look forward to coming to their sessions, especially when what we're working through is tough. Therapy is a serious and powerful undertaking, but it doesn't have to be ominous. I think being down-to-earth and as lighthearted as possible about the institution of therapy helps to make it feel more accessible and fight any stigma attached to it. I look forward to working with you, you and your partner, or your family!

Some may enter therapy to address major life changes, such as becoming a parent, and others may seek help in managing mental health conditions, like depression. Many people seek counseling because they have identified specific goals or issues that they wish to work on. Others may be encouraged by family, friends, or medical professionals to seek help. Whatever the motivation, it takes courage to attend therapy, and it takes dedication to see it through.
