Hi, I'm Jill! I'm a therapist in upstate New York who is committed to creating an affirming and inviting environment for the folks I work with. I've been practicing since 2017, and enjoy working with adult and teen members of the LGBTQIA+ Community. If you've found yourself feeling stressed, anxious, going through a change or transition, or looking to process some big feelings, then you've already taken one of the most challenging steps in seeking out therapy. I do my best to create a space where you can be yourself, open up, and we can even have a laugh together. I'm glad you're here, and am looking forward to working together.

I never cease to be amazed at the strengths my clients show when tackling challenges, experiencing distressing emotions, or recalling upsetting memories. I would like to help you see and develop those strengths in yourself. Working together, we will find ways for you to use your strengths to make the changes you desire in your life. I work well with a variety of issues but feel I can be most helpful to those who have histories of trauma and abuse, individuals who struggle with coping with emotions, and people whose lives have been significantly impacted by mood or anxiety disorders.

I have been a clinical social worker since 2001 and first began to provide counseling when I was a graduate student. I have worked with hundreds of adult and adolescent clients of all ages since then who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, impact of childhood trauma on adult functioning/relationships, bipolar disorder and those living with chronic mental and physical health issues. I can help you help yourself to finally feel better using techniques derived from solution-focused, cognitive-behavior (CBT) and dialectical-behavior (DBT) therapies.

As humans we all have complex lives and due to this complexity, we all experience stressful events, but if these have started to impact daily life functioning and your quality of life, it is time to look at your options. The idea of therapy can be intimidating, but in reality it is an opportunity to self-reflect, promote healing, and improve one's quality of life.
