I am a Cognitive Behavior Therapist (CBT) and I specialize in treating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). I also have training and experience in treating anxiety, anger and depression. I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years and I have helped a lot of people get better so they can live more meaningful and productive lives. My job is to help you feel less distress so that you can do the things you want and need to do. If you are looking for a "no nonsense", short-term, targeted, and evidence based treatment, then I am probably the right therapist for you.
I use Cognitive Processing Therapy and Exposure Therapy to treat trauma and PTSD, and I use Exposure and Response Prevention to treat OCD. I also use Exposure Therapy to treat anxiety disorders. These interventions are highly effective and I individualize them to meet the specific needs of my clients. Therapy can usually be completed in 12-24 sessions.
CBT is extremely flexible and collaborative, and can be adapted to meet the needs of any client. I have a very person-centered approach and I like to use creativity and humor to help my clients learn new ways of thinking and new coping skills.
