"PSYCHOLOGY WITH A SOUL" Are you seeking change, are you in crisis, does your life seem to be falling apart? I can help you ease the suffering that exists. I work through issues by understanding Relationship: with the self, your family, love relationships, friends and colleagues, and how to sustain them. Another major transitional life issue is finding your purpose and creating a vision of the future, which are the keynotes to happiness. I am informed by a number of techniques: Attachment Focused EMDR. positive, psychodynamic, relational and transpersonal psychology; however, "love in action" is the focal point of the work.

Limited availability at this time (Dec 2025). If our schedules don’t align, I’ll connect you with another therapist at LYT! I work across all ages, including adults, college students, teens, and children. Therapy with me is about reconnecting with your strengths + resilience, while honoring your past + present. I am specialized in supporting folks who feel misunderstood, anxious, "too much" or are exhausted from trying so dang hard! As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent therapist with a background in corporate leadership, I bring a deep understanding of burnout, masking, + managing high-pressure environments.

You are taking a first step to talk with another person about your life in order to better understand who you really are and what you really want. Life offers so many opportunities to grow, to connect, to create, to laugh and to love. I try to help people become comfortable with themselves as they are, while they work to make the changes they believe they need to feel more fulfilled and at ease. Using mindfulness-based skills and other strategies-we can develop insight and awareness to make choices that better align with our strengths and goals. We can create healthier connections with others, and learn to like ourselves as we are.

If you are seeking to regain who you once were, uncover who you know you could be, become who you want to be, build on who you already are, or all the above, we can do that together. Life is something that just is; we are what happens in it. I work with you to reclaim what may seem out of your control, to step back into the driver's seat of your own life. We all struggle at times and it is not about how strong or weak we are, but how much support we have.

I specialize in working with queer and trans adults at all different stages of their journey, but I am also eager to support anyone seeking a non-judgmental space for reflection and growth. Clients often come to me when the challenges they face are too heavy to hold on their own. I support people navigating relationships in which they feel stuck, and I provide a safe space for clients who are experiencing the painful sense of not being understood. As a mental health counselor in training, my areas of developing expertise are in anxiety, depression, and the aftermaths of loss and unexpected life transitions.

Trained in a somatic approach to psychotherapy, I work with trauma and the impact painful life experiences have on one’s ability to connect with others, engage more fully in their chosen pursuits and find greater levels of inner peace. I have come to understand that we can’t be fully in the present or move towards the future if we are caught in the traumatic energy of the past. While suffering is part of the human condition, we hold within the very structures of our brains and the core of our regulatory systems the means to survive devastating life experiences as well as the capacity for growth and change.

You may appear capable and composed on the outside, yet feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained inside. Many of my clients are thoughtful adults who are used to managing on their own, but feel stuck, disconnected, or weighed down by experiences or patterns that have become harder to carry, even when things “should” be fine.

In my career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I feel fortunate to have chosen a professional path that remains endlessly interesting to me, even after several decades of practice.I am perceived as honest, authentic, compassionate, and enthusiastic in my eclectic approach to helping my clients move forward. I am unafraid of the therapeutic use of self as a treatment tool, and unwilling to surrender until the necessary growth a client is seeking begins to reveal itself. My clinical, organizational, and presentation skills are excellent, and I am goal-driven, thorough, and detail-oriented in all aspects of my work.

Not sure where to start? Searching for the "right" words? Concerned about talking to a 'complete stranger' about your anxiety/depression, relationship/work struggles, AD[H]D/ creativity blocks? Sure I "know" about people's struggles, individually & as couples -- and how to overcome these-- as well as different approaches to therapy. I have listened to & helped many folks over 35 years as a NYState Licensed Clinical Psychologist & Certified Adult Psychoanalyst. In addition, I have been an Adjunct Associate Professor (at NYU, Brooklyn College, & several NYC psychoanalytic institutes); I was in my own analysis; & I continue to supervise less experienced clinicians.

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
