For the past 30 years, I have helped numerous children to reach their full potential. Approximately 40% of my practice are children and adolescents; I also treat adults of all ages, including geriatric patients.

As a Clinician, with 17+ years' experience, I have an extensive background in working with children, adolescents, and families facing a range of stressors from mild relationship conflict to more intense mental health symptom management. My specialties include behavior modification and parent skills training to create long term change, strengthen relationships and foster motivation-based behavior compliance. At Behavioral Health Counseling our therapists provide evidenced-based, goal-oriented treatment to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Treatment and Behavior Plans are individualized to meet each patient’s need.

Dr. Steven Fried is the Founder and Director of New Pathways Counseling Center. He is a Licensed Psychologist and has been in private practice for nearly 30 years. He is a Certified School Psychologist, has Post-Graduate Certification in Family Therapy, and is considered an expert in psychological testing. Dr. Fried is a published author, has been on the faculty at NYU for 25 years and a consultant at Brooklyn Hospital. He also helped coordinate the delivery of emergency mental health services and supervised dozens of practitioners in the aftermath of the World Trade Center attack. Dr. Fried obtained his Ph.D. at Hofstra University.
