Difficult relationships in our past can leave us with unhelpful and unhealthy ideas about ourselves that is hard to change. And Yes, the past is very powerful, but it does need to determine our future. Using a psychodynamic approach, I try to help my clients feel less entangled by their past and ultimately more in control of their lives.
My goal in therapy is to provide a safe space for my clients to be heard, accepted, and supported emotionally. With empathy, insight, and a bit of humor, I encourage my clients to engage in self-exploration so they can better understand their emotional challenges which helps them find greater peace and more joy in their lives.
