Although some struggle is an inevitable part of life, there is the danger of accepting continual pain & struggle as "the way life is". This way of thinking can keep a person trapped, unable to even imagine what "better" would look like. Therapy offers a way out. For some, the traumas suffered in the past make it difficult to find happiness. Others may find themselves behaving in ways that leave them feeling worse, or once again in the same hurtful relationships. Some may be consumed with regrets about past mistakes, or filled with fear of the future, missing opportunities to live well in the present.
I employ a combination of methods my clients have found very helpful in overcoming these struggles: therapeutic hypnosis & mindfulness to ease overwhelming feelings & bring out hidden strengths; focus on past trauma, abuse, & neglect so that these experiences do not interfere with the present. We would work in partnership, finding methods best tailored to your needs.
I have been a therapist and have trained therapists for over 20 years. I have post-graduate training in couple, child, and family therapy, psychodynamic therapy, meditation techniques, trauma work, and have specialized training in the creative/performing arts and music.
