Seeking therapy can be an overwhelming and confusing process. There are often many personal issues that drive our need to seek help, which are not easy to bring up, and may have never been brought up before at all. From trauma to legal problems, sexuality to substance use, and everyday stress to severe mental illness, sometimes all we need is for someone to sit with us and help us solve the problems that we don't believe we can talk about with anyone else in our lives. The only necessary starting point is the willingness to explore what brought you to seek help in the first place.

The families I work with are dealing with caring for an aging or disabled relative. Often the issue is that their loved one can no longer function independently due to physical weakness or cognitive problems due to dementia or Alzheimer's Disease. The precipitating factor is often a hospitalization and rehabilitation in a facility. The family is at a loss as to how much care will be needed upon discharge, what will Medicare pay for, and where will the home care workers come from. I also work with individuals with early Alzheimer's Disease, who need different kinds of services, which is also very stressful for the family.

We are not meant to struggle and suffer alone. Feeling understood, we understand ourselves better and find courage, inspiration and wisdom to lead authentic lives. Whether you are seeking help with adjusting to stressful life events, managing your own or your child's ADHD, anxiety, depression, parenting or romantic relationships, I hope to help you and/or your child gain a realistic and compassionate understanding of the difficulties, build resilience and improve coping. One of the greatest joys of doing this work is sharing the healing and liberating moments of putting something unspoken or unspeakable into words.

We all go through hardship sometimes, and it is hard to get unstuck. Having an ally to support you and help you sort things out can make a great difference. We usually have the answers inside of us but they are hard to reach. Mental health should always be a priority, readily available and affordable, that's why I work on a sliding scale. If you call, you will get me, not a robot or a secretary, and I always return all calls as soon as possible. You can always reach me via text or e mail as well. I hope to hear from you.
