I believe that healing begins within a strong, supportive therapeutic relationship, and I approach my work with deep respect for the courage it takes to seek support. I strive to create a collaborative space where clients feel understood, empowered, and hopeful.

My goal as your therapist is to foster a space such that you feel safe to explore and take risks towards being the person you want to be. The environment will be uncomfortable at times. I do not provide answers nor an echo-chamber with constant validation. I will aim to provide a consistent, genuine, non-judgmental, and supportive space that offers opportunities to explore your past, to learn about yourself, to try new ways of showing up, and to challenge yourself and sometimes your own beliefs so that you may arrive at your own conclusions.

Psychotherapy is about freedom: freedom from suffering, freedom to change what is working poorly in one's life, and freedom to develop as an authentic human being. I address patient's difficulties from a number of perspectives: psychodynamic, which provides a way of understanding how people limit their lives in ways they're not aware of, as well as Somatic, which addresses the roots of trauma and emotional conflict as they manifest in bodily experience and symptoms (headache, pain, digestive problems). I now also integrate somatic parts work as well as ketamine in therapies where the trauma histories affect current functioning.

Therapy helps people to overcome challenges in their lives, enabling them to heal from painful pasts and experience themselves in the present as more vital and alive. To facilitate this growth, I offer my patients a place to explore their inner worlds, their challenges, and their relationships to others. Together, we identify the forces, internal and external, that keep them stuck in negative patterns. It is through knowing and addressing these forces that we expand their ability to experience themselves, connect to others, and act to improve their lives and reduce their suffering.

My ideal client is typically between the ages of 5 and 18 and is navigating emotional and behavioral challenges that affect their daily life at home, in school, or in relationships. These children may be dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, social difficulties, or neurodivergence such as autism or ADHD. Their normal goals are to better express themselves and manage their emotions within interpersonal relationships and situations.

Ever have those days where you seem fine on the outside, but inside you’re just worn out and not sure why? It’s exhausting to hold onto a story you’ve never had the chance to share. You deserve a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported—across every language, culture, and part of your journey. I work with individuals, teens, couples, and families-especially from multicultural backgrounds-navigating life transitions, intergenerational challenges, identity, and belonging. As a trilingual (English, Mandarin, Taiwanese), trauma-informed therapist, I’m here to help you feel grounded and connected to yourself.

In life, there is no obvious roadmap to finding happiness and satisfaction. The mission of therapy is to explore your inner world so that you can find meaning in the world outside. Our work will be to get you on a path to living a life in which you can be fulfilled and about which you can feel proud. The hardest step to take is the first one into the consulting room, and people often feel tremendous relief when they do. Therapy can be the one place in the world where your issues are front and center, you need not compete with others to be heard, and the only agenda is your self-improvement. If done well, it is life-changing.

Are you stuck? Same problems, same thoughts? Unable to play, or imagine something different? Suffering alone only forces the pain underground to emerge in symptoms, behaviors and personal interactions that undermine your life and lead you to hide even more from others. Depression, anxiety, addictions and trauma require another person to help you understand their pull and face them, so they no longer control your life. I think of the therapeutic relationship as one where you can explore who you are with another person to encourage your desires to emerge without shame and fear.

My interest in Marriage and Family Therapy stems from a desire to fill a gap that was present in my own community. Having had experiences where an unbiased sounding board could have been pivotal in navigating unstable relationships, I set a path that allowed me to be the change I wanted to see. The general philosophy that anchors my practice is “building healthy relationships one story at a time.” This includes the relationship with oneself. There is no one fits all solution to a problem, or one way of getting to a place of feeling well. This in mind I aim to listen, learn, validate, and advocate for what “works” for my clients.
