I have been in practice since 2013 primarily in community mental health settings, and I have worked closely with adults, couples, adolescents, and families struggling with challenges that include (but are not limited to): anxiety, depression and anger, grief and trauma, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, gender identity, LGBTQ issues, emotion regulation, low self-esteem, poor concentration, poor body image, career transitions and life stage adjustment.

The therapeutic relationship is a sacred interpersonal bond built on trust. Together, we’ll co-create a space to overcome your obstacles, shift lifestyle or behavioral patterns, and tap into your innate capacity for resilience. I view my work through an anti-oppressive social justice lens, which will deepen your understanding of how your environment, your family, and your community can impact you. We may explore anything from the trickle down effect of workplace stress, to the impact of media violence on children, or anything else that may be on your mind.

Relationships can be challenging, but you don't have to muscle through by yourself. I specialize in clients who have a hard time forming close relationships or feel lost and depleted in existing ones. If you feel difficulty in coming close, expressing your needs and having them met, and/or setting healthy boundaries, I can help you by offering tools and a path of clarity. Many of my clients struggle with low self-esteem, anxiety, imposter syndroms, and/or fears of abandonment that impact their ability to form healthy connections. I have significant experience with non-conventional relationships such as LGBTQ+, ENM, and Poly.

If you’re feeling stuck in the same patterns you don’t need to struggle alone. Therapy with me is a relationship where you can feel free to be (and discover) who you are. Together we create a space where you can speak openly to examine present and past, so that your desires for the future can be fulfilled. In our work you can expect to gain insight into underlying narratives and beliefs that are shaped by a unique personal history, learn new skills that alleviate suffering, heal, notice increased confidence and reduced conflict. When your perspective shifts so does the way others relate to you.

If you don't do it, it won't get done. Everything is on you. Lately, you don't even ask, because what's the point? You are exhausted and feel like you are the only one trying. You feel taken for granted. You are sick of having the same fight every week. You've tried saying it calmly, you've yelled, you've cried...yet you continue to feel stuck. But regardless, it goes in one ear and out the other. You can't even remember how the last fight started or what it was about. You wonder "Am I asking for too much?"

I am an Indigenous (Laguna Pueblo) and Filipina therapist working with clients with histories of trauma, grief and loss, and establishing and growing healthy relationships. When you work with me, I allow you to set the tone of our therapy journey. Together, we explore what is the concern bringing you in and how you’d like it to be different in the future. Once we know where we’ve come from and where we are going, we can explore how we get there.

Did getting to this page take you a while to finally do? Let's face it, therapy can be really intimidating, especially if we've had a bad experience or have never been before. I can promise you my style of therapy is the furthest thing from intimidating. I want to hear you out, be with you in what you're processing, and make it less painful with more gains. In my office, we'll laugh, get real, and walk through whatever it is you need. It's my belief that we're not meant to go through life with an "it is what it is" mindset. It truly doesn't have to be, if you're wanting change we're going to find a way to get there together.

If you're hurting right now that doesn't mean something is wrong with you. Many people who work with me learn that the behaviors they want to overcome are normal responses to life’s challenges. That doesn’t mean that you need to get used to sleepless nights, racing thoughts, panic attacks, or depressive episodes. I’ll help you make sense of why you are responding in these ways and together we’ll help you find relief. The work we do will involve radical self-acceptance.

Things are not going the way you want. Maybe you're having the same struggles you've had before. You're stressed, anxious, unhappy. You have many responsibilities, you're frustrated, under so much pressure. But, at the end of the day, you don't have the relationship or life you want. It seems easier for other people. You may be feeling alone or lonely. It eats away at your confidence. In private you might question your self-worth, think you're not good enough. Maybe others think you have it all together, or they rely on you. It is especially confusing if you are successful in other areas. You are used to fixing things on your own.

Psychotherapy is ultimately about achieving a deeper understanding of the self, articulating the issues one struggles with and creating a pathway towards change. It can be a challenge to shape our futures and to find the right therapist with whom you can establish a meaningful connection. Navigating the kinds of questions keeping you up at night means finding someone you can trust. Someone with whom you can co-create a judgement-free, compassionate, empathetic landscape. I’m interested in finding out if we can build that kind of dynamic together.

Hello lovely people, life is short and how can we live the best of it? How can you manage work stress and social anxiety? Do you often doubt yourself, feel lonely or sad, and can't find purpose in life? I believe psychotherapy is not only about curing or resolving pain, but also increasing awareness and understanding and accepting the full range of human emotion. It’s important to feel our different emotions and learn how to express ourselves fully. I am specialized in the treatment of anxiety, depression, intimacy, low self-esteem, trauma, interpersonal relationships, and self-exploration.

How can I find a therapist in 10010?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
