I am passionate about my work and believe in the healing benefits of psychotherapy. I view therapy as a process through which we explore the issues that confront you, place them in a context and develop strategies for change. Engaging in this process not only do we learn new ways of coping or getting "unstuck" but we also develop a more genuine relationship with ourselves, others and the world in general. I am authentic and direct but a considerate therapist who will work with you and assist in empowering you to move forward in meeting your goals with care, compassion and a sense of humor.
My experience spans disorders, populations and modes of treatment from working with chronically mentally ill to individuals dealing with anxiety, substance abuse, depression, mood disorders, to people wanting to improve communication, coping with loss and trauma, helping couples dealing with relationship issues, developing family and interpersonal relationships to career transitions.
I has been working in the Behavioral Health since 1993. My education encompasses a Doctor of Jurisprudence, Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling, Clinically Certified Criminal Justice Specialist, Masters Addictions Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor Mediator (Registered Neutral) and Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH) credential.
