Are you troubled and stressed in a relationship, but don't know how to change things? Do you say yes when you want to say no? Are you covering up your pain with destructive behaviors? Do you judge yourself harshly and feel you are just never good enough? Negative thoughts, anxiety and low self esteem can be an enormous burden, making it a crushing chore to just get through the day. They affect your relationships, your ability to work, and can lead to substance abuse, over-eating and other behaviors that can pull you into a downward spiral.

I firmly believe that life's most difficult challenges - intense and explosive emotions, impulsive behaviors, trauma, emotional eating, suicidality, self-harm, substance abuse - can be handled and surmounted through compassionate support and attainable goals. I am a certified DBT therapist, a skill-based therapy designed to help those living with overwhelming emotions and harmful behavior patterns. In my years of practice, I have seen my clients master the tools of Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Effectiveness to build happy and productive lives, with increased self-respect and positive relationships. I know there is hope and relief for everyone.

I am seeing clients in my offices and/or using Telehealth. I combine a ‘wholistic’ approach for all my clients, from children to adults, using science and evidence-based techniques. This may help them get emotionally regulated, make better decisions, widen their Window of Tolerance, and have access to being more calm. I follow your lead on developing real solutions 'here and now' for personal, family, social, and vocational challenges. Have questions? I have a great website and Watch and Read More page that informs and educates you on the methods we can use in session.

Ideally, we use an eclectic approach with therapy. Encompassing one particular approach is not beneficial - a "one size fits all" is counter therapeutic and does not allow the client to find refreshing avenues to discover abstinence/sobriety. Coupling our therapeutic approaches with Self-Help immersion, or non-traditional means, is well received. Additionally, we focus on developing a relapse prevention plan from the very first session. We call these "living, breathing documents which change throughout treatment". Please feel free to call with any questions you may have for yourself or loved one.

Starting therapy can be a scary journey, but I’m here to provide you with a safe environment to discuss all of the issues and concerns you’ve been bottling up inside. Change only happens when we challenge ourselves to venture outside of our comfort zone, and I’m here to walk with you every step of the way. I incorporate the principles of mindfulness and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in all of my sessions as I believe living in the present moment helps improve our connection with self, others, and the world around us.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. I know sometimes the journey to finding help may be bumpy. So give yourself some props for making it here. At times we all face struggles internal, external, and often a combination of both. I have observed that often we can feel stuck from these experiences, even if we’ve tried to move on from them. That is because we need a little guidance to process and buff out the imprint that remains in our system. It is my hope to help facilitate a path to finding more ease, feeling better, and move towards the life you want.

We will establish clear, concise goals for what you wish to achieve by participating in therapy, along with the steps which we will take,as a team,to help you achieve those goals. We will work only at a pace at which you are comfortable, which will remain flexible for adjustments.I will always meet you where you are at.You remain the driver at all times.I routinely prefer to myself as“a tool for you to utilize, providing you new sets of lenses to view your world through & similar to an umbrella on a rainy day.” It is up to you to remember to open your umbrella & to try out your new sets of lenses during your personal journey of change.

We all have a life narrative; some experiences are easy to understand, while others we may try to reject or avoid. Our narrative can be unfairly written with past emotional pain and we’re left to shoulder the burden of these experiences, which may manifest as anxiety, depression, grief, anger, etc. Each of these experiences are part of your greater story, linking from one to another, all of which has shaped you to be the person you are today. The process of self-exploration, change, and healing from these experiences is challenging, highlighting the importance of finding the right therapist for you.
