I'm often asked, "When is it time to see a therapist?" I don't know anyone who can say everything in their life is going well all of the time. We all have challenges from time to time, but you don't have to go through them alone. I'm here to help you use your strengths to keep what is going right, and find your strengths when things are going wrong. I bring warmth, empathy, and a touch of playful creativity to my work. Parents who are overwhelmed by their children's behaviors, kids/teens who need someone other than mom or dad to talk to, and families looking to reconnect may find working with me to be especially helpful!
I began specializing in working with children, teens, and families ten years ago. As a parent myself, I know that children and teens often need a different approach to therapy than adults. I earned my PhD through researching the ways in which social media impact well-being, and I use evidence based practices with all of my clients.
I believe the most effective counseling relationships are built on trust and collaboration. Therapy should be a safe place to explore difficult topics.
