Dr. Shirin Zarqa-Lederman is a counseling psychologist specializing in trauma services and community psychology, holding a PhD in the field. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and licensed clinical drug and alcohol counselor (LCADC) based in New Jersey, working with clients globally. Prior to establishing her private practice, Dr. Shirin was a program coordinator for a NJ adolescent substance abuse program, where she developed treatment curriculum for group and family therapy. Later, she worked as a community liaison for this program and three others in New York, coordinating psychiatric and substance abuse care.

The Counseling Center is an outpatient treatment center offering both an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and an Outpatient Program to help people recover from substance abuse and cope with mental illness. Programs at The Counseling Center provide evidence-based methods that combine substance abuse treatment with principles of the 12-steps. Treatment is individualized and designed to teach the necessary skills to live a clean, sober and productive life.

I specialize in helping adolescents and adults overcome the struggles of eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self-harm, and substance abuse. I help my clients learn concrete coping skills and effective ways to take control of their lives. In Addition, Our Success RATE is 85% of Our Couples that have Successfully Completed Our Couples Workshops or Alcohol Treatment.

With post graduate training in marriage and family therapy, I have spent the past 20 years working in the mental health and substance abuse fields. I find it particularly rewarding to help adolescent and teenage girls who often struggle with anxiety, self-esteem, school, and peer issues. Due to my background in marriage and family therapy, even when working with individuals, I find it helpful to gather information about family history to utilize in therapy.

Hi, I am Mike Osrowitz, a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in treating various mental health issues including coping with stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, marital issues, and bipolar disorders. I am also a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor and have worked with clients struggling with various addictions or the family members who have been affected by their loved one’s addiction and behavioral changes. In many cases, there are issues of addiction with co-occurring mental health challenges at the same time. Talking with someone that can help navigate these issues can be extremely helpful.
