When I work with adults, my focus is on understanding the factors that have led up to the current symptoms, and on understanding the person's strengths. By building on individual strengths, therapy can guide us back to our best selves.
In treating children, I feel therapy is most effective when the family is closely involved. I work collaboratively with parents to come up with solutions that effectively support their children. I help parents to provide clear, consistent expectations, and to develop positive reinforcements that elicit the best from their children.
