I am a clinical psychologist with an interest in servicing adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety and mood disorders. My training has focused on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder particularly as it manifests in difficulty with intrusive thoughts and compulsions in areas of contamination, religious scrupulosity, and sexuality. I additionally work with general and health-related anxieties, depression, and psychological challenges related to medical conditions, such as diabetes and cancer. In my practice I make use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Schema Therapy to offer clients a variety of tools and a process to understand their thoughts, emotions, and behavior patterns.
My goal as a clinical psychologist is to give clients the necessary information and skill to be able to work through any future symptoms on their own, feeling empowered to manage relapses and/or setbacks as life challenges arise.
I strongly believe in employing creativity to enhance the effectiveness of therapy, and can do sessions outside of the office space as part and parcel of therapeutic success (e.g. accompanying a client to the exposure site of a feared stimulus). I tend to employ humor and a directive approach in therapy sessions.
