You often feel misunderstood, ignored, even silenced, and this prevents you from asking for what you want...for what you deserve. And, every time you think you are ready to say how you feel or ask for what you want, you realize you are just too exhausted and would rather keep your feelings to yourself to avoid conflict. Deep down you know that you are struggling with your confidence (although you may not show it on the outside). You find yourself in a cycle of unhealthy relationships but you can’t find the motivation or the courage to break the cycle. It’s time to break the cycle and speak up.

Hi, my name is Ailene Wright, LPC. I know life is full of daily stressors and challenges that can bring us feelings of anxiety and worry, which can be overwhelming at times. Growing up and figuring life out can be tough whether it's the stress of school, friendships, family dynamics, or big transitions like starting college or entering adulthood. I specialize in supporting adolescents, teenagers, and young adults as they navigate these challenges, offereing safe, judgment-free space to talk openly and honestly. I am down to earth, collaborative and rooted in geniune connection. Instead of a "one-size-fits-all approach, sessions are tailored to each person. Some of the issues I work with are anxiety, stress, conflict resolution, building confidence and self-esteem.

I am a multicultural and multilingual therapist who keeps it real. I’m trained in yoga and mindfulness and have experience working in high schools as well as clinics throughout NYC and NJ, bringing mindfulness on-the-go and helping people recognize the skills or techniques they need to move forward. As a first-generation American who grew up in a multicultural family, I integrate this perspective in helping others realize their unique goals and dreams. Together, we can explore and uncover topics such as personal development, emotions, facing your fears, oppression, anxiety, navigating relationships, and family issues.

Welcome and thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I am here to help by serving as a listening ear and helping redirect perspectives, particularly when so much focus is on the negative these days. I have worked in high school so I know some issues teenagers face, as well as people who learned to express more when the pandemic limited typical coping methods. I have also worked with individuals near retirement as they cope with shifts in life and newfound possibilities. I look forward to hearing to hearing from you.

The best laid plans of mice and men may not always cover every eventuality. Life often changes the drop of a dime, and when that happens, you will need someone who can empathize and work with you as the unique individual you are. While changes are inevitable, they may not always be negative. I will work with you on finding you a new path forward in this new stage of your life.

I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. You may be navigating the weight of addiction, anxiety, or the unique stressors faced by first responders. The first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you and begin building a supportive relationship. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your concerns, and what you hope to gain. My ideal client is someone ready to move past feeling stuck—whether in a career, a relationship, or a cycle of substance use—and is looking for a collaborative partner to help them rediscover their resilience.

When people think of therapy they tend to imagine a scary place where they have to tap into themselves to open up to strangers. I became a therapist because I wanted to be that safe place for someone to feel comfortable opening up. Everyone has a story. Each person has the right to feel heard, not judged, safe, and understood. My goal is to help them reach that satisfaction in a safe non-judgmental zone.
