Currently Accepting New Clients. The reality of pregnancy and childbirth doesn't always match up to the expectations. Please know you're not alone. Family transitions can contribute to changes in family dynamics and feel overwhelming - no matter your role within the family. It's not always easy to reach out for support, but a phone call is the first step toward getting back on track. I specialize in peripartum mental health.

Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious or exhausted? I understand the unique challenges that come with each phase and season of life. You might be feeling alone, like no one would understand. It is hard, when on the outside it looks wonderful and yet you are crumbling inside or being less than kind to yourself. Teens are facing anxiety, academic pressure, mood swings. Couples may be stuck, distant or recovering from betrayal. Families struggle with conflict, communication, tension, or disconnection. You may just want to keep going along, yet you can no longer ignore your struggles and not truly feeling well.

You can't sleep. Your heart races. You might feel sad most of the time. You feel like you're forcing yourself to do everyday things. Maybe you tried medication but you don't feel like it's helping. You may even be finding comfort in drugs or alcohol because they are the only things that make you feel better or not feel anything at all. This is what it might feel like to live with anxiety or depression.

Do you find yourself avoiding intimacy, feeling anxious in social situations, or struggling to trust others? Do past wounds make it hard to feel safe, connected, or fully present? No matter how much you try to move forward, self-doubt, frustration, and emotional exhaustion keep pulling you back. You overthink interactions, blame yourself for what happened, and feel unworthy of love. Trauma anniversaries bring flashbacks, nightmares, or moments of feeling on edge. You are not broken, and you don’t have to keep carrying this alone. Healing is possible.

I began practicing as an in-home clinician working with people after discharge from long-term psychiatric hospitalization. It was during that period that I received intensive training to provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The intense dialectical process has been helpful for many of my clients to achieve stability and work towards resolving traumatic experiences. Part of regulating our behavior is teaching our body and brain to better regulate so I also specialize in Neurofeedback/biofeedback modalities to support behavioral interventions. Please see my practice website for details on Neurofeedback treatment: CTneurotherapycom

Living one's life with courage, insight and vitality is not always easy. Relationships can be difficult, disappointing or elusive. Families and careers can be demanding and exhausting. Transitions arrive and losses mount up. Anxiety, depression, self-doubt and low motivation may arise amidst the stress.

Trained in Germany and in the United States I have been able to learn from both academic and cultural traditions. Psycho-dynamic, Gestalt, Solution-focused and other approaches in Psychology led me to understand our emotional life as a strong and resilient force. This force is leading us - sometimes unnoticed - to new beginnings; we resist what is destructive and we heal at the same time.
