Finding relief, support, meaning, and a clear path forward are the goals of most of my clients. We work together on both practical possibilities and internal understanding. A major part of the process is increasing the ability to really see and use the goodness within oneself to not only navigate complicated situations or recover from painful events but to find a sort of personal freedom capable of improving the quality of everyday life. Exercising this victory muscle can be a deeply spiritual endeavor. I invite you to call me to explore our potential for a mutually comfortable fit.

I take a compassionate, client-centered approach that integrates traditional talk therapy with somatic and body-based techniques. In therapy, I hold space for the impact of how larger systems shape our experiences and our capacity to heal. Together, we will navigate how to take care amid such a complex social landscape. My practice focuses on supporting folks with chronic illness, within the perinatal and postpartum period, grief, and life transitions. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection within ourselves, our bodies, and our communities.

I believe we all deserve to be heard, understood and supported as we navigate challenges in our lives and therapy can be a great place to receive that. My goal is to create an environment where you feel safe to be your truest self without judgement and that when you attend therapy, you feel a weight lifted with relief. I believe deeply the strongest tool in therapy is the relationship we develop together so taking time to understand you and what makes you who you are is my highest priority.

Sick people in this country have two jobs; fight to manage their illness, and fight the systems that are actively working against them. My goal is to provide a safe container in which chronically ill people feel heard as they process the trauma they continuously endure, to listen as they describe the detrimental effects of medical gaslighting, and to support them in rewriting their narrative in ways that empower them and restore autonomy to their lives.

You might feel stuck—questioning your identity, struggling in relationships, or carrying anxiety and self-doubt that won’t quiet down. Maybe you’re moving through a big life change or just tired of feeling like you have to hide parts of yourself to be accepted. My clients often want clarity, relief, and a more honest connection to themselves and others. As a non-binary therapist, I understand how deeply the therapist’s identity can shape the therapy space—and how important it is to feel seen. I also bring a feminist perspective to help make sense of how social and cultural systems impact your lived experience.

I am excited that you are stopping by on your way to find a therapist. A therapist that can hold space unconditionally while also bringing clarity to life situations is a profound gift. I believe that people are naturally oriented to grow, heal, and experience love and connection. However, folks usually seek therapy during or after difficult events, when the ground has disappeared. In therapy with me you will have a safe and spacious environment to examine your experience actively and intentionally take part in your growth and healing.

Currently accepting new clients. I am honored and privileged to join my clients on their journeys. A successful therapy experience is two-sided: a high level of motivation and commitment on your part, along with my experience, expertise and support. My clients tend to be ready and willing to take deep dives inward to explore themselves. Examining perspectives can lead to deeper understanding and thus allow you to make the shifts you desire in all areas of your life, including your relationships. As life is a series of relationships, the relationship between therapist and client(s) is one that can be a springboard for growth.

I offer a welcoming, compassionate, and non-judgmental space to share your story. Sometimes, problems we face — whether they come with a diagnosis or not — may be overwhelming, debilitating, paralyzing, unhealthy, or destructive to ourselves or our relationships. I work collaboratively to help people deconstruct and free themselves from the grip of problems that may be overwhelming and oppressive and move toward preferred ways of living and thriving.

My therapy practice is a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to lean in toward themselves and make contact with what is present at this time in their lives. I use tools from body-centered psychotherapy, life coaching, meditation, and mindfulness to enhance self- awareness, self-compassion, forgiveness, and healing. I believe that we each hold within a map of our own journey along with answers to our questions and inquiries. I view my role as a therapist to be a mirror, reflecting back your wisdom. I offer tools that help build confidence and resilience as you begin to navigate your life from a place of deep inner knowing.

I believe that the right course of treatment for a client depends on who they are, what they bring into session, and how they are comfortable working. I enjoy helping individuals make meaning out of their experiences, build awareness of self, and have a space to be heard, validated and heal. I feel that a strong relationship between client and therapist is what allows for growth and the deepest level of work to be done. I strive to create a welcoming, non-judgmental, and empathetic space for that purpose.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
