When you look at your present life, what is it you see? When you search your feelings about who you are now, are there changes you want to make? The stress and responsibilities of life can result in feeling depressed, anxious, alone, thinking there is no one who can help you through. I would like to offer you a therapeutic opportunity to create a life you want to live.

I have no 2025 openings unless you are a previous client. I don't take insurance. Payment is at time of session. Sessions are online. My specialty is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) which research has shown to be effective for many types of mental health and relationship issues. CBT focuses on solving current problems in a time-sensitive and structured way, along with teaching clients how to modify thinking and behavior that is getting in the way of living the life they want. I work with clients to help them get through their current crisis, and if needed, to explore past issues that continue to make it difficult to move forward.

Your life hasn't turned out the way you planned. Anxiety or depression are making you feel stuck...like you don't recognize yourself anymore. Maybe you are considering a divorce, you've gotten sick, you've lost your job, or you've had a loved one die. Situations like these and others can leave you feeling angry, heartbroken, and confused. Having a safe place, and the support of an experienced and compassionate therapist during those ups and downs can be transformative.

I am not currently accepting new clients (as of 12/24). I really enjoy working with young women (18-30) who are navigating life transitions, whether you are a new high school grad or starting your first "professional" job after college. This stage of life is hard! You may face various obstacles as you enter the world of adulthood. You deserve to thrive in your life and not just survive. In a world that is consumed with comparison, it’s easy to lose esteem and doubt how special you are. If you are feeling stressed, down, overwhelmed with emotions, or anxious you are not alone, and it doesn’t have to be that way forever.

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist that has been practicing since 2016. I believe that any person entering therapy has a ton of courage. It's hard to finally open up- let alone to a stranger. I am here to facilitate a safe environment to talk and most of all to listen. It is not always easy to start the journey of self understanding and care. So many feel stuck in a rut and feel they have no options in life. I am here to help you understand yourself as well as to help you see the numerous paths you can take in life. "It's not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain." -Vivian Greene.

Finding the right fit with a therapist can be challenging. I'm a psychotherapist who excels at connecting with people and making them feel at ease. I'm known by my clients to be warm, engaged, humorous, direct and compassionate. I believe it is a privilege to sit with people who allow me to bear witness to their lives, stressors, and pain. I have great appreciation for the "and" that life often presents, and encourage clients to recognize and tolerate that we often experience conflicting emotions simultaneously. I approach therapy as an interactive process and enjoy working with people to develop a plan that works best for them.

I believe that individuals deserve to live their life with less difficulty no matter how their biosocial makeup has been developed. Life continues despite how intensely challenging it can be. We are not in control of most situations, except of our own thoughts and actions. We do have a choice to continue to move forward in any circumstance that we are in, even if we feel like we can not. This can feel overwhelming and difficult, or even lonely, to take that first step. With a safe therapeutic space and down to earth soothing tone, we can work through these vulnerable steps together.

I provide a safe space to process difficult life situations and to create healthy, positive and lasting change. When adults struggle, we often want to fix our problems immediately or avoid them altogether. But for lasting change to occur, experiences must be processed at a deeper level. I thrive on the ability to provide you with tools to create lifelong change.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
