Looking for a therapist can be overwhelming, especially when you really need help. If only life would stop coming at you for 5 minutes so you could catch your breath. Come see me and get some relief. I have been a therapist for 21 years. What is important to you is important to me. Each session is tailored to your needs. Sometimes you may want more structure, feedback/guidance. Sometimes you might just need someone to listen, to witness your pain, and know you were heard. That is how I see my role: to be a human being sitting with another human being offering emotional help, support, & insights. You're not going through this alone.

As your therapist I want to build a safe and connected relationship where we can work as a team to determine how to handle challenging thoughts, feelings, or situations more effectively. What changes to you want to make in your life and what's getting in the way? We will identify key values and behavior to grow into. My goal is to foster a sense of compassion, curiosity, kindness, and openness to the therapeutic process and teach the skills to transfer these qualities of being to your life wherever you go. We will learn skills and techniques to accept the challenges of being human while still living in line with your ideal values.

It is not uncommon to realize we are living lives we never planned on. We may be in an active crisis, or a life transition, or we may realize that we are stuck, or that things are just not working. Often, present-day challenges can be traced back to old patterns of relating, perceiving, understanding, and behaving. I help my clients identify and understand old patterns, and then develop greater flexibility in how they relate and respond. I work with them to adopt new practices which will allow them to move away from impasses and towards lives that are more fulfilling, productive and connected.

My belief is that all phases of life come with unique obstacles and opportunities for the development of deeper insight into what makes life meaningful to us. I find what often interferes with that meaning making process are deeply ingrained patterns of behavior, ways of connecting, and beliefs about who we are meant to be. These patterns in turn create seemingly unresolvable tensions in how we relate to others, the world, and our self. My hope is that in the work I do with my clients, we can create a safe, supportive, and challenging environment to explore where these patterns come from and how they continue to show up.

When I meet my clients for the first time, we may decide to seek solutions to ADHD, OCD, anxiety or depression. Parents may be looking for a resolution to a child's school under-achievement, home conflict or social disconnection. In each situation, my belief is that therapy supports skill development and fosters a sense of balance, or equanimity.

You’re someone who feels like no matter what you do, it’s never enough. You push yourself to be everything for everyone, but still find yourself overwhelmed by anxiety, trauma, or emotions that feel impossible to manage. Maybe you keep smiling on the outside while feeling anxious, disconnected, or unsure of your worth inside. But you’re ready to make a change. You’re ready to feel calmer day to day. You’re ready to build healthier, more authentic relationships. Most of all, you’re ready to heal from the past and finally feel grounded and at home with yourself. I want to help you get there.

My practice is comprised of individuals and families grappling with a range of issues from addiction to high conflict divorce, major mental illness, and college transition difficulties. Many of my clients are navigating with the strain of divorce and are seeking to learn skills to co-parent young children despite high conflict with their ex-spouse. Others are parents devastated by the ravages of addiction on their child and their family. These clients are motivated, competent and capable, but are experiencing discomfort in their lives that requires empathic support and guidance.
