Welcome. Finding a therapist, whether for the first time or umpteenth, is daunting. For clients who have tried therapy many times previously, you will find me to be honest, warm, compassionate and direct. I have often been the therapist that "finally gets it" for clients. Together, we will explore what is bringing you to therapy and through our connection and work we will strive to create long-lasting, sustainable change. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is collaborative and authentic and I consider it a privilege to support my clients in their self exploration and growth.

I am a clinical psychologist with expertise in whole-person health and the science of behavior change. I specialize in helping individuals manage stress/anxiety, depression, chronic illnesses, and addictive or otherwise problematic behaviors. I enjoy helping clients to identify, make, and maintain personally meaningful life changes and often incorporate aspects of health and financial psychology into therapy. In addition, I have specialized training in couples therapy for partners interested in strengthening their relationships through improved communication, trust, and connection.

Adeline Dettor is dedicated to empowering couples, young adults in their twenties, and working professionals to break free from the grip of painful emotions and unproductive relationship patterns. Her expertise with grief, anxiety, depression, and trauma are accompanied by an approach to therapy that creates space for curiosity and for seemingly small and inconsequential observations to grow into life-altering insights.

I am a licensed psychologist with over 15 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults, couples, families and adolescents struggling with a range of interpersonal and emotional issues. My approach is gentle and compassionate and focuses on active listening, problem solving, coping skills training and gaining insight into how past experiences influence the present.

There is no "perfect" approach to making change, addressing life challenges, or reducing symptoms. My approach is intentionally eclectic and integrative, allowing for your unique strengths and struggles to guide our work. I practice from a relational psychodynamic orientation and integrate aspects of cognitive behavioral and narrative psychotherapy in my approach. This means that our work together will consist of identifying the patterns in how you relate to other people and to yourself and working to change those patterns, allowing for more fulfilling interpersonal relationships and a discarding of unhelpful ways of being. I am committed to understanding the dynamics of power and oppression and the ways I can help to undermine and process them in the context of our work.

I strive to help each client to live their best life. I work with adults, children and teens. A good part of my practice is devoted to working with college and graduate students, and adults with autism. My passion for helping others has spanned over 30 years. I am a licensed clinical and school psychologist, as well as a board-certified behavior analyst. I am licensed in 39 states through Psypact which is helpful when my clients travel for business or attend school out of state.

I practice from a strengths-based, whole-person wellness perspective. I draw from my experience working in wilderness therapy, outpatient clinic, and in-home intensive therapy to bring a well-rounded approach, full of creativity to every session. There can be a lot of shame associated with neurodivergence and I teach others how to focus on appreciating the unique wiring of their brain. I also help parents through these concerns.

She has also worked on various levels of care, from inpatient to intensive outpatient.
