Life can be challenging, and sometimes we carry struggles that others may not see. If you’re here, you might be feeling ready for change but unsure where to start. I'm Rose, and my role as your therapist is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions. Using a strength-based and person-centered approach, I help you recognize the resilience within you. Together, we’ll set meaningful goals, using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care to guide your healing in a way that fits your needs.

Most of us know how we're 'supposed to' take care of ourselves. Yet, I work with smart people often baffled by their own compulsive eating, isolation, or self-defeating thoughts. They know they aren't taking good care of themselves, but they can't seem to make changes. Working collaboratively, we tailor therapy to your needs. Whether exploring the origins of behaviors and triggers, or employing strengths toward a new direction, you can expect honest, kind feedback, with a healthy dose of humor in our work together.

I help young adults, including college students and young professionals, navigate life concerns that are common during this stage of life, including anxiety, depression, and the various experiences related to life transitions. I also have a special interest in treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) with this population. Reaching out to start therapy can be intimidating for many; I work to provide a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgmental space from the very beginning— many clients report feeling comfortable from the initial consultation call. I work well with clients who’ve never been to therapy or are nervous to retry it.

I have 24 years experience using and teaching the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. It helps you get obstacles out of the way so solutions and connection can emerge, and works powerfully and gently to uncover your innate wisdom. I am the author of the award-winning IFS relationship book, "Bring Yourself to Love: How Couples Can Turn Disconnection into Intimacy," and many book chapters and articles. I see both couples and individuals in Providence and Newport, RI. I do not take any insurance.
