"Life is easy!" said no one, ever. Life can be quite difficult and the pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps mentality causes more harm than good. My job is not to tell you how to live your life or to dole out advice, but to help you navigate how YOU want to live your life. My belief is that the client is the expert of their life. Change is scary but necessary for progression and growth. If you're ready to take a stand for your mental health, I am ready to work with you!

I’m honored to offer a safe, non-judgemental, and supportive space for growth/healing & self-exploration. On our life’s path we all have highs and lows. We experience various emotions, some more difficult than others. It can be hard to know what to do with our feelings; how to have them, how to show & share them or simply how to acknowledge them. Emotions can be heavy yet fragile & deserve to be treated with the utmost respect. Using tools & techniques, I help people to observe, describe, experience & participate in the full spectrum of emotions along their life’s path in a non-judgemental way.

Do you find yourself worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet? Anticipating the worst? Overthinking every little thing and letting your feelings spiral out of control? Are you a people pleaser but then find yourself overwhelmed, frustrated, irritable and always putting everyone else’s needs ahead of your own? Does everything feel harder than you think it should? Symptoms of anxiety and depression are often exacerbated by the way we think about and perceive a situation. By changing the way we think we can, in turn, change how we feel.

I specialize in working with children to build their existing social-emotional skills in conjunction with their parents to best support the family's journey. You are worried about your teenager. They look sad and anxious, closed in their room. You are afraid to ask, you want to give them space but you are worried that something is not right. They hardly talk and seem to be interested in very little. They used to socialize and be active but since the pandemic everything seems to have come to a standstill. When they were little it was easier, you knew what to say, how to engage with them and calm them down. But now it seems that anything you do is wrong. The tension in the house is high and all you want is for things to be like they used to,

I am passionate about supporting families whether it be couples struggling with conflict, infidelity, communication, mental health concerns or parenting issues; adults who have been faced with a trauma or challenges that may be overwhelming for them; adults struggling with mental health concerns, or trauma. I believe in treating the whole person. This includes considering their mind, body, and spirit as well as exploring the family system to understand and discover who they are on many levels. I work collaboratively with individuals to empower them to build their "tool box" of skills in order to face future challenges.

I have extensive experience working with adults and adolescents with anxiety, stress, sadness, self-doubt and worry. The reasons for these feelings may be known or unknown to you. These feelings can be lifelong or the result of a recent difficulty. You can feel uncertain; not knowing what to do next. We can work together to increase your self-confidence, clarity of thought and feelings of well-being. It is difficult to talk to someone about your concerns. I understand this. I strive to create a supportive and comfortable atmosphere. It is possible to make positive changes in your life.

Accepting new patients. Parenting, anxiety, work struggles, and day to day challenges can be increasingly hard to navigate and prioritizing your well-being can seem out of reach. However, your well-being and the well-being of your family matters. My approach centers on connection between therapist and client, connection to psychoeducation to learn new skills, and connection to resources to make navigating challenging circumstances easier. I work with clients with concerns regarding anxiety, ADHD, ASD, depression, and sleep. Long-term and short-term therapy are both available, and we will work together to find the best fit for you.

Life is not easy. Sometimes we find ourselves in circumstances we never anticipated. Sometimes things fall apart. Sometimes we can't see the path ahead and we may feel we've lost our way. Unresolved past traumas or recent traumatic events may rob us of our peace and hope. Relationship issues, depression, anxiety, habits that overtake us, chronic pain and phase of life issues may arise unexpectedly to hinder our progress towards our life goals.

Please note that I currently do not have openings for individual therapy. I am an EMDR Certified Therapist who specializes in the treatment of trauma and dissociation. I believe that healing from trauma is possible (as opposed to just learning how to cope with post-traumatic symptoms). I consider therapy a collaborative, creative process. Clinically, I am warm, active, innovative and data-driven, using EMDR, clinical hypnosis, inner child work, TF-CBT, EFT, guided imagery, mindfulness, the Flash technique and polyvagal exercises.

How can I find a therapist in 01810?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
