I provide personalized therapy to help children and teens understand their internal experiences, learn actionable strategies, and utilize supports to get through challenges skillfully, even when emotions are high. I enjoy helping families learn to "speak the same language" of emotions, stay connected through moments of stress, and build upon experiences of fun and enjoyment. I have particular interest in helping caregivers to navigate acute challenges such as family illness and loss in a way that feels grounded and intentional.

Now welcoming new clients! You may feel anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or unsure of your direction, even if things appear “OK” on the outside. Navigating anxiety, life transitions, depression, relationship challenges, health conditions, or stress at work can be difficult and isolating. Perhaps, beneath the frustration of it all, you yearn for a space to view the entire picture—your emotional life, relationships, and the real-world pressures you carry—and to feel more grounded, empowered, and aligned. Many begin with “What is wrong with me?” and learn to ask better, kinder questions. Schedule a 15-min consult to begin.

Have you lost someone close to you, whether through divorce, a breakup, or death, and find your grief taking over your life? Are you questioning your sexual orientation or gender? Are you experiencing post-traumatic stress symptoms? You don't have to do it alone. I work collaboratively and compassionately with my clients to help them come to some kind of peace with whatever they're struggling with. I believe that everyone has a strong inner core that can get eclipsed by traumas both large and small. Together you and I would work to find and reclaim that core.

With a strong support system, our most difficult moments can become catalysts for growth. I work with adults, young adults, teens, and children who are looking to make therapy a part of their support system. My clients are often navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, identity exploration, anxiety, depression, and the lingering effects of stress or trauma. I approach therapy with an awareness of how our formative experiences, identity, culture, and broader institutions shape our emotional lives. Together, we’ll slow down, notice what’s happening beneath the surface, and create a plan for meaningful change.

Welcome. I work with teenagers and young adults, and am most experienced working with those coping with trauma, going through family challenges, grappling with their identity (e.g., men's/masculinity issues, faith and sexuality/coming out, racial trauma, social class), striving to be in healthy relationships, as well as those exploring therapy for the first time. Outside of work, I unwind by cooking, playing guitar, practicing yoga, and spending time with friends and family. I am an avid soccer fan, an armchair student of political history, a regular sauna user, and happiest anywhere with a dog.

I believe therapy provides a place where you can get to know yourself on a deeper level and reflect on how to best navigate your life. I work with people to meet them where they are in their path and use the relationship we build as a safe, collaborative base for growth. I am committed to creating a non-judgmental, supportive and empathic environment to explore life's joys and challenges. I work with people on addressing the issues of the here-and-now, as well as past experiences and how they inform relational, occupational and existential difficulties. I work with both individuals and couples.

My practice is currently full and I am not accepting new clients at this time. It is as though a “What if…” reel is running in your mind. You are so exhausted by the second (third and fourth!) guessing of your choices and your interactions with others. Dealing with your anxiety is taking up so much energy. Sometimes you try to avoid the things or situations that are causing your anxiety. Other times you might check in with a friend, partner or parent asking, “Do you think what I did was okay?” Still other times you imagine worse-case scenarios playing out and strategize how you can prevent them. But the worry comes back.

An ideal client would come in with complex issues/stressors and be able to talk freely. Perhaps this client is not as self-aware as they thought they were and need help poking holes in different mindsets or beliefs to expand how they view certain things.

When your teenage or college student is bright but struggling in school, it's hard to not blame them or the school or even yourself! Underachieving feels rotten. Their views of themselves can become very negative and damaging. I understand that frustration personally. I would have been saved from so much grief and pain if I had the chance to be evaluated as a young person. I believe everyone should have the chance to know how their most important asset in life- their brain- works. To maximize their strengths and forgive themselves when they struggle, instead of feeling stupid and alone.

Does it feel like you're shouting for help and nobody can hear (or nobody cares)? Family, work, relationships, can all feel so overwhelming. You want to be it all and do it all but you're losing yourself. It feels like nobody understands, even when you try to explain. We get told that relationships, family, platonic, and romantic, require "good communication", but nobody every teaches you what that means, so it always feels as though you're being misunderstood. You're snapping at your partner, your kids aren't listening, and inside you're screaming. Call me, I can unweave the knot and help you feel like you again.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
