My area of expertise is helping young adults and adolescents deal with difficult situations in their lives. Teenagers and kids with anxiety, depression, ADHD, ODD, bipolar disorder, childhood trauma, neurodevelopmental disorder, intellectual disability, eating disorders, substance-related disorders, schizophrenia spectrum disorders and other psychotic disorders, personality disorders, anger management, conduct disorder, grief and bereavement, suicidality, juvenile mental health, or the consequences of unstable environments, like homelessness or family conflict, make up a large number of my patients.
My therapeutic approach adjusts to each individual’s specific needs. I use good communication skills, psychiatric evaluation/assessment, treatment plans, and medication management to provide my patients with strategies for managing their emotions, improving communication, and building resilience.
As a PMHNP, I understand how difficult it may be for young people and their families to confront these problems. My goal is to establish a safe, judgment-free environment in which young people and all patients can feel acknowledged and supported as they explore their feelings and experiences.
