My path to psychiatric care grew from my own experiences with suffering, healing, and transformation. Growing up in China and later immigrating to the U.S. shaped my deep empathy for people navigating identity, cultural transitions, and emotional pain. I once imagined becoming a lawyer to advocate for the vulnerable, but I found that psychiatric care offered a more intimate, human way to support healing.
I see psychiatry as both care and advocacy—being present with people in their most vulnerable moments and honoring their stories with respect and compassion. I believe healing happens not through quick fixes, but through being truly seen, heard, and understood. I view each person as a whole, complex individual shaped by culture, history, and inner experience
To me, mental health healing is the process of reclaiming one’s sense of self, meaning, and connection. It’s not the absence of symptoms, but the presence of self-understanding, inner peace, and the ability to move through life with authenticity. My goal is to create a safe space where you can explore your story, and move toward healing that feels authentic.
