About
Do you feel lost in the maze of mental health providers and programs? Have you tried multiple therapists and and not had the results you need? I provide consultations, second opinions, oversight, and therapy to selected individuals and families to help them find the right approach to complex problems. As a clinician and teacher, I have published books for consumers, a textbook of psychotherapy, and have been elected Leader of the American Psychiatric Association’s 1,200 member Special Interest Group on Psychotherapy. I’d like to help you or your family find your way in our very confusing mental health system.
My career-long interest is in how psychotherapy actually leads to change, regardless of the "brand" of therapy. I believe that the kind of therapy should depend on the individual and the situation. That'a what I teach therapists, what I write in my blog, and what informs the way I counsel individuals and families facing complex mental health problems.
