I treat patients via telepsychiatry in Washington, Florida, and Michigan. Telepsychiatry is surprisingly personal, highly convenient, and effective. My practice includes adults (21+) with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and OCD in addition to those navigating relationship challenges or life transitions. I work with an amazing group of colleagues at Lavender, an online psychiatry and therapy office, where we believe psychiatric care shouldn't be expensive nor impossible to access.

You may be considering therapy or medications because you are experiencing distress or dissatisfaction with some part of your life. I believe that I can help you to move through a challenging time by creating a safe place to talk about difficult situations. Therapy will be mutually designed to assst you to examing the cognitive, psychological and behavioral patterns that may interefere with your experiences of fulfillment in life. Sessions will be supportive and challenge you to examine your current life situation.

I have extensive experience working with the LBGTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, and my specialties include: ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Life transitions, emotional regulation challenges, grief, and trauma. I combine my psychiatric and psychotherapy work together, to treat my clients through an integrative approach that works to treat the entire challenge you’re facing, from a medicinal but also therapeutic way. I believe we're all products of the environment we grew up in, but it is up to us as individuals, to grow and learn about ourselves, so we can become the healthiest, and best versions of who we hope to be.

Dr. Zipperman is a Board Certified Psychiatrist graduating from the University of Washington Psychiatry Residency and Loma Linda School of Medicine. Balanced Living Psychiatry is built on the understanding that happiness, peace of mind, and overall wellness is found at the intersection of healthy living, strong coping skills/ self-care, insight oriented therapy and psychiatric medications. Dr. Zipperman adopts the approach of integrative psychiatry, providing medication management and psychotherapy interventions but also building a team of providers for her patients including highly specialized psychotherapists, yoga/mindfulness/meditation teachers, Naturopathic Doctors, and the patient's own Primary Care Physicians.

I'm passionate about the importance of people having easy access to mental healthcare. Before joining the healthcare field, I taught in low-income and underserved communities. Seeing the impact that a lack of mental healthcare had in these areas drove me to return to school and begin a career focused on providing that much-needed care. In my eyes, treatment can significantly increase the quality of life both mentally as well as physically.
